I like it, but if I ever get an Ibanez personally I'd have 24 frets, floyd and a tree of life. Worth checking this site as well,http://www.musicalinstrumentsales.co.uk/elguitars.html
seems like a bargain down near the bottom of the screen. Also the Steve Vai copy and PRS Santana SE II might warrant a check.;)

change the electronics and your suckin diesel..the rg's a great job compared to other low enders

I definately wouldn't touch that Ibanez just because of the lack of pictures. As for gassing over cheap guitars, this is top of my list:

The trem on the OLP petrucci model is lovely, played one in musician inc

yeah the olp is nice enough but i severly dislike chrome hardware (except on natural finishes)..whats it like for stayin in tune dave???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Well, its a floating non locking trem, so its difficult to tune. But i liked the operation of the trem. I gave the trem a fair work out in the shop and it was still relatively in tune so it cant be all that bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

sounds good how much in musician inc?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Cant remember, €500? I could be way off. But it wasn't any more than €500 anyway. Black finish with chrome hardware, didnt see no poster though!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 586 ✭✭✭The_g-man

To take it back to my link again, does that Vai copy appear to be worth chasing up on?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

None of these guitars have soul! I need to get my self a lite ash telecaster to go with my Gibson

€450 or €475 I think. Not too bad actually when you consider it's €400 from Musik Produktiv with €20 shipping.

Hmm, has the board gone all Ibanez fantasising after I got my J custom? Makes a welcom change from Fenders, I must say. ;)

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 23,363 Mod ✭✭✭✭feylya

Well, this has taken my fancy

I like it, it's pretty original, which is refreshing. Still, I'd love one, if I could afford it that is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

they are refreshing i suppose but if i was gonna go that expensive it'd be prs or brian moore i think

Yeah, PRS are definetly a lot nicer, but I'd like to see a Custom 24 with Piezo options.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeah so would i does such a beast exist

Nope, I'm afraid not. At least not outside of the custom shop. However, the PRS McCarty Hollowbody II does have an LR Baggs Piezo option.

Although the reason I've got GAS for a Park right now, is because Chris' guitars has one for $1250.

I think for Piezo options at the moment, I'm still going to get my Tokai PRS Copy kitted out with a Fishmas piezo system. Close enough to a Piezo'd Custom 24 as I'll get for the moment, I think. ;)

I got it brand new from ebay, a fellow in Germany to be exact. Cost about €380 including shipping, and once I stuck a Duncan JB/59 set in there, awesome guitar. I just checked to see if the guy I bought it from had any more, but he doesn't have any items for sale currently.

Here's a couple of piccies, see if you can guess which is the Ebay pic, and which is with my ****ty camera:

I got the J Custom from ishi. ;)

And come on, I've only 6 guitars. I'm very happy with that number, but it's hardly excessive.

Thanks! You'd hardly tell it was a cheap ass guitar at all. Looks, sounds and plays like something a lot more expensive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeh but they have been coming quickly at present u only got the stealth and then the j custom arrivedand to fill a gap u bought an rg and a tokai...no guitar collection is excessive

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

Yeah, 4 guitars in the space of 1 year I think. It was March last year I ordered the Stealth, so yeah, 1 year.

But yeah, I think I've enough now for what I want, and once I kit out the Tokai with piezos, I'll have all the tonal options I could need.

No idea, I just had a look there and I can't see any either.

You would say you have all the tonal options you need, until strat gas descends upon you...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeah u have a great line up there kh..thats a great years work

i think a tokai lr (alpine white) a scheter and a jap tele would finish me off tbh

I don't know, I was gassing for one a while back, aswell as a Les Paul, but once I got the J Custom, most of my GAS had dissapeared. I think that Parker was the only thing that's really tempted me in a long while.

What kind of Schecter would you be going for?

So what does everyone think of the schecter in the FS forum, personally i think it looks cheaper in reallife than on the schecter site

Pricey @ €550, would need another €200 on pickups.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,968 ✭✭✭jcoote

yeah your right dave its a good few bob for something stock
    i'd go for a c7 i reckon..

Yeah, but pickups are something you have to factor in on a lot of guitars. Hell, I'm even thinking of changing the bridge pickup on my J Custom from the Tone Zone to the Evolution. That'd just make it perfect then. ;)

This the first time you've looked at the C7 Blackjack? The Doc has one, so why not see if you can have a go on his. ;)

I think the only guitar I'd consider perfect from stock is my Stealth. :D

Nope ive seen it before, but i never realised what the specs were.

Aye, well it's definetly got some good specs alright, especially for the price. I was thinking of getting one before I got the Ibanez 7 String.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,691 ✭✭✭david

But where do you get them from? Where did the doc get his?
