Thats far too much water too be drinking in one day, can't remember what its called but has something to do with the kidneys shutting down due to too much water.

Potentially you flush all the salts out of you system putting pressure on your brain and end up with brain damage and/or death.

You do seem to be overdoing it. The minimum recommended for an adult is 2 litres per day of clear liquids (not counting tea, coffee, etc), so anyhting above that is Ok. What youa re doing is not OK.

Do you spend any time out of the bathroom?

Your story sounds just like me drinking milk lol
I have heard that it can harm, not kill.I've read that it causes the kidneys to have to work extra hard to get rid of the excess water and it is infact this, that does the damage and also it can cause excessive bloating. How long have you been doing this for?
If you regularly excercise alot and sweat alot im sure that some of the water would be used up in hydrating youself etc but even then 15-20 pints of water is WAY too much I think.
Like victor said, you are pretty much flushing all the nutrients and essential salts out of your body which cant be healthy in the longterm

that's a savage amount of water.
It sounds like an unconscious habit you seem to have that you think benefits you.
Try and cut down to a sensible amount.

it's possible to drink too much water, but unless you are running a marathon or an infant, water intoxication is a very uncommon condition.

    so i guess im ok

I go to the gym upwards of ten times a week for full on sessions and i still wouldn't drink anywhere near that amount of fluids

If you had said 15-20 glasses, because everyone is different,I would have thought that it was ok because maybe you sweat alot more than others etc etc. However think about it,you are drink 7/8/9 litres a day of a "clear" liquid that is putting no salts and nutrients back inside your body and infact you are flushing out pretty much all of what you are taking in terms of salts which are ESSENTIAL

You could be. They do allow people access to the net now a days. Have you tried drinking other things other then water like isotonice drinks. You can buy buckets of isotonic powder to mix yourself.

Do you have an active thirst for the water?

Because the amount you're consuming along with your frequency of heading for the toilet are sometimes an early warning sign of possible diabetes.
I'm not a doctor but there is diabetes in my family and this can be one of the early sigsn...might want to maybe tip in to a doctor and see what they think.

Either way I don't think that amount of daily consumption can possibly be good for you, even in a hot climate where you've just run two marathons.

Jesus, just saw this thread. There is no way in the world that drinking that much water is good for you, in fact it's downright dangerous. Like everyone has said, you're flushing out essential salts. Also, by flooding your body with water, you put your cells under extreme pressure and run the risk of them basically exploding.

Stop putting your health at risk.
