Lower Back Pain

Hi, in the last 2 weeks I've been getting terrible pains in my lower back. It's so sore at the moment that I'm in terrible pain even when I stand up!! I'm only 27 & I feel like an old man!! I don't know how I've done it but here are the possible causes

    1. Work - I've been doing more work on the computer lately & typing. I also lean over the desk to my phone & my keyboard so I'm sure this is a factor

    2. Car. I adjusted my car seat about 3-4 weeks ago. I think this is a factor, though I only spend about 7 hours a week in the car

    3. Football/Injuries, etc. I have only been back playing a couple of months after terrible injury problems. I got custom made orthotics and my feet have been a lot better lately. I'm wearing them around 4 months. Not sure if there a factor.

Any advise much appreciated - I've heard bad stories about Chiropractors, so any home remedies much appreciated!!!

leaning forward at a desk for prolonged periods is bad news as i found out.if you're in terrible pain you should call to the doc and then maybe the physio.like you said i wouldn't make a mad dash for the chiropractor

I'll not charge you for this:

    Vit B12 injections.
it is used very extensively to treat lower back pain, the reason for the injection over an oral supplement is because when you are deficient in B12 ur stomach cannot produce enough HCL acid or a special enzyme. Without these 2 the B12 cannot be absorbed into the bloodstream, hence an injection is needed...

sumptoms of deficiency of B12 are - nervousness, BO and low back stiffness
problem is most common in veggies

see a good chiropractor, start with contacting the Chiropractic Association Of Ireland (www.chiropractic.ie) then ask locally and make sure they have diagnostic equipment (x-ray, sEMG etc) and are willing to refer you if they can't help you.;)

If your in Dublin I can have a look at it for you. I'm an Acupuncturist and TCM practioner. I specialise in back pain and sports related injuries. I've treated a number of people from boards for low back pain and gotten great results. Pm me and I'll go through a couple of things with you to temporarily relive the pain. I also have a few more questions in order to help me diagnose the nature and cause. Please keep in mind that without seeing and palpating your back I can not offer a full diagnosis, and can only offer general advice.

    Yours,
