Anyone know of any gyms around these areas? Ideally for the morning workout.

Bray - Esplanade, Royal Hotel - both ****

Greystones - GRC (rugby club) and new Jacky Skelly's - as far as JS gyms go it's awful I gather - dbs only go up to 40kg.

    Shankill - nada.

I heard a rumour that Total Fitness are thinking of setting up in the Dell in Bray which would be animal.

That would be great. Yeah I rang the hotel and they wanted 640 for the year. Will stick with Loughlinstowns manky showers for the moment.

That and they don't have any free weights and about 120kg total in plates for the smith machine...

The db's in Loughlinstown go upto what 110 or 120lbs iirc, still not a lot but better than most gyms. I've trained in here a few times and yes it's old and the machines and free weights are crap but it's cheap and you can get a workout done, they even have a powerrack which is a rarity in gyms.

All JS are crap if you are there to lift. The best gym in Dublin is Hercules, however the best all round place is TF Sandyford.

Where do you live Joejoem? Early in the am Loughlinstown is what 10-15 mins from the nearest TF?

The esplanade was my first gym :o and tis true its the most utter ****e of a gym ever created. Recently i heard the toilets are leaking and seeping out onto the free weights section

Im going to the new jackie skellies in greystones on wednsday just to have a look at it but i'm probably going to join loughlinstown during the summer.

hi, ladies workout express in castle street bray, across from superquinn are now under new management. they have circuit training, bikes, treadmills and cross trainers. they also have classes such as pole fitness, boxercise, hip hop and salsa. they arent expensive at all, only 39.95 per month!! they also have shower facilities that are very clean.and staff are very friendly and helpful. worth a look at!!!
i somehow doubt a person with the name joe joe will fit into your gym.

There is a gym in Bray called 'Peak Health' [www.peakhealth.ie]. I don't know anything about the place.
Jackie Skellys in Greystones is absolutely terrible by all accounts so I'd avoid there.
There is a new gym & pool centre in Greystones and Bray - I think they are both called Shoreline Leisure. Can't find a website for them. The one in Greystones is nice and very spacious.
There is also a gym in Bray at the Royal Hotel. Its quite small & has a tiny pool.
Oh there is the Glenview in Glen of the Downs too - http://www.glenviewhotel.com/leisure-club. Its ok but during school holidays and at weekends the place is packed with kids.
