    Hi,

During the week I noticed that I get a pain in my side while running on the treadmill at the time I thought it was a stitch, but ever since then I have noticed it's there

This morning when I was in the gym, hadn't eaten breakfast I got one... Anyone have the foggist what this is and how to fix it.

    Cheers.

Well a stitch is due to (1)food. (2) bouncing (3)breathing in beat with your jogging), (4) all three above...each step/jog, puts stress on the (tendons that hold ur stomach/organs in place, any part of ur intestine that has food in it will obs put that tendon understress. the tendions are attached to the underside of ur diaphram , so if u breathe out or in, in time with each step...

    besides that ive no idea.
never had my appendix out etc.

Most Stitches are apparently caused by pressure from the diagphram on your liver which is on your right side. to combat this inhale every time your left foot hits the ground.

Cheers lads, I'll give it ago tomorrow. If I still get one, I'll say it to the gym instructor see what they think... Would have asked today but it was the same ol' story, none around when you need one

MSN Mens Health actually say the opposite, that you should Exhale as your left foot strikes the ground. http://health.msn.com/menshealth/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100119940

Really?? Just speaking from personal experience I've found the best way to get rid of a stitch is to conciously seperate my breathing rythm from my stepping rythm.
