Surely what actually smells like a sellout is the constant 'defintive' boxsets released every Christmas, releasing Cobain's diaries, or releasing a glorified demo as a new Nirvana track.

And in response to your comments, It really shows how much people know about Nirvana. The Fact that Courtney Love is the music slut behind the dismiss of Nirvana's records call it "Sell-out" or, what I like to refer to it as, "Record rape", She clearly has all the power behind what happens to the music. Plus we must not forget the Kurt was Murdered. Fact.... and before posting a responce to this, please read the many fact stated articals and strange surrounds of his so called "Sucide", which if reopened today, would in no doubt be a murder case...... I'm angry, oh so angry!!!

I read the story earlier today. And I know plenty about Nirvana - I, like most others, discovered them in my early teens and have since moved on. I'm well aware that Courtney has been a driving force in the release of all those commercial boxsets, re-releases, books, diaries etc. My point was that this carry-on has been going on for years, and the latest story isn't any shock, surprise or cause for anger for me. It's part and parcel of Nirvana these days, and you can either ignore it and enjoy the music, or let it get your back up. Which is a bit silly, really.

Seriously man, what's your problem? You're the child that's got a chip on your shoulder about Courtney Love selling some rights to a "Dead" band's back catalogue. Nirvana were a great band and their music still holds up today, but you seem to be forgetting that they no longer exist. Get over it.

Secondly It's not a matter of getting over it, or having a chip, It's about standing up for what I believe in! Personally I think Courtney Love is the sellout to something that was great, and in some respects still is great part of Music History! Her sustained wealth from the death of Kurt Cobain is evident in much of her own career..... There is much to be said about why people have let her get away with this for so long. I for one am sick of it!

I'm going to go out on a limb here, - i like Courtney Love. Yes, thats right. She may be the most hated woman in music since Yoko but here is my opinion.

She gave a very sad and unhappy man (musical genius or not), some brief moments of happiness in an otherwise desperately troubled life. Kurt loved her and together they had a daughter that brought great happiness to the guy. Let us not forget that Kurt was a heroin addict who played music not a musician who took heroin.

Love and Cobain were the perfect disfunctional couple. She is known to have saved his life at least twice, this notion of murder is ridiculous.

People should remember that Kurt never considered himself or the position of rock star as special so why is he treated with such veneration?

I believe that Kurt would want his wife and child to be taken care of before his "legacy". If she has to make unfortunate decisions, so be it.

Its better than that other D**khead Dave Grohl earning more money and kudos out of Kurt's work.

stumbled onto this article a few days ago and i must say i was shocked that novasellic and ghrol only own 2% of the entire nirvana back catalogue, i know that kurt wrote most of the music but that still seems unfair.

As for courtney she is doing exactly the oposite of what kurt stood for as a person, still shes been going in and out of bankrupsy so you cant blame her, i bet kurt would want to at least keep his daughter happy and healthy.

As for nirvana being a dead band, thats bull**** when they are still affecting people to a level which they do today, inspiring many people in there early teens away from the evilness of dance and rap music and selling so many albums there is no way you can call them a dead band, you wouldnt call the beatles a dead band would you?

Finally as for the kurt was murdered theory, yea i must agree, when there was no fingerprints found on the shotgun and kurt wasnt wearing any gloves, i mean come on if you dont see that as suspicious theres somthing wrong, it should have been a murder case but theres sweet fu(k all i can do bout it now so i just gotta live with it.

6. He had very little influence on the music of Nirvana and if Kurt had lived, he would have been sacked.

7. For a great "friend" of Kurt, why does he spend most of his time bad mouthing his wife and mother of his daughter?

8. He only deserves 2% of the money because he was basically just a hired hand ( Novaselic should have about 10%)

as for the sell out crap, bands go out to make a living, their entitled to earn as much ass they can why not. how many bands would refuse an oppurtunity to play in front of 80,000 or more two nights in a row? how many of them would say ah thats ok i will give he ticket proceeds and tshirt sells to charity. even the so called lord saviour bono wouldnt do that. though i dont see why a band should charge E60 to see them unless it was slane
