I am looking to get in shape again after a few years of not doing too much. I am quite active in that I play football twice a week and maybe go for a run once a week. My aim now is to tone up because I'm carrying a bit of a belly (not too much) and I'm finding it hard to shift it.

I know i'm going to have to put more effort into the exercise side of things but I really need information healthy eating to benefit me.
I have given up white bread, fried food and all chocolate/crisps etc. Still drink the booze though!

Should I be eating 3 meals a day or more smaller meals? My aim firstly is to loose a bit of weight mainly by changing my eating habits and increasing my cardio workout....would that be the best way? Down the line I will start weights etc.

    Any info would be appreciated!

Hi, just gonna point you in the direction of the stickies that we have at the top of the page, looooaaads of info directly relating to the q's you've asked in there. And yes, you'll lose weight primarily through diet, and you'll increase the number of calories you burn a day (therefore creating a cal deficit) with cardio. And 5-6 meals a day is the recommended norm.
