Change of workout

I'm currently doing a routine where I'm mainly doing weights etc, but today I've thought about just switching to cardio in order to lose a bit of weight.

My current diet is something like this:

    Morning: Banana and warm weetabix/meusli

Late Morning: Banana and a meusli bar

Lunch: Chicken tikka brown bread sambo with a good few dressings (gonna cut back on these)

Dinner: I try to have something proper everyday (e.g. spag bol, chicken tikka)

Tea: Never really have anything for tea, as my eating cut off point is around 8, but I'm snacking on rice cakes.

I've noticed a bit of weight loss since joining my gym (December) and have bulked up a bit, but I wanna focus on weight loss for the next while (wanna lose around half a stone).

I know I've got some bad things on my diet, but I'm trying to keep it realistic so I don't go on a huge spree and eat twice that in chocolate.

I go to the gym around 3 times a week and spend about an hour/hour and a half there each time.

What would be the best move would you say? I'm planning on losing weight to show the muscle a little clearer, but would I be better to keep the weight and turn it to bulk?

    Cheers for any advice!

You can't change weight, if you want to show muscle that you have, then you have to loose the weight covering it up.

Was that your diet when doing the weights? Because i can't imagine you gaining much with that?

Your diet could be better for weightloss, obviously as you know yourself, cut out the salad dressings etc, spag bol is probably not the best for you, i doubt the sauces do you any favours, what kind of beef are you buying? If it's cheap crap then it's probably full of fat, if it's all ready made crap then even worse.

If you have to use salad dressings(i wouldn't blame ya) then go with weight watchers at least. Try and stick to regular chicken/turkey etc.. Get some more veg into ya! Stick with wholemeal rice/pasta's etc.. Eat a little more regularly too and make sure you drink at least 2L's of water a day.

    What's your routine like?

so how much fat are you carrying, as i am gathering that you are looking to lose fat as oppose to wanting to lose weight.
Diet wise ye cut out the dressing as much as possible or make your own so you know exactly what is going into it.
Same with the dinners make sure you are using extra lean mince i.e. less then 5% fat and also try and do as much af the sauces for your dinenrs yourself as the pre maid sauces are generally not the best for you.
In relation to your regime what sort of cardio are you doing at the mo or is it all weights. If it is all weights i would suggest cutting down on 2 of your weights sessions and introduce some HIIT training into them. Do sprinting if you can or spinning classes are also good. With the sprinting do interval sprinting of approx 20-30 seconds sprints followed by a walk or slow jog of double the time and then sprint etc. Do this for around 10 sprints if you can to start off and then increase rep and time sprinting as you go further along.
With the limited time you spend in the gym I'd say HIIT would be a better alternative then LIT as you will also be able to put in a small weights session in after the HIIT session where as the LIT will need full sessions. But i would suggest going for a run every so often as a 4th session during the week.
