i'd avoid maximuscle, i've had terrible problems with them. (see thread http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2054908130).

Ultimately any decent quality plain creatine will do fine mixed with some sort of simple sugar containing liquid (i use grapefruit juice, but orange or apple should work fine.) Plain creatine is alot cheaper than proprietary brands which tend to have a load of crap in them that doesnt justify the higher costs.

I have abb micronised creatine, it's pretty cheap too. Creatine Ethyl Ester tabs are pretty handy too. No need for sugar with the latter and better absorption.

Why would you pay maximuscle the price of a kilo of Creapure TM Monohydrate when your only getting 300grams?

    Come on.

Like Easygainer said folks, or check out www.fitnessireland.ie or www.usnireland.ie for some decent deals.

Basically what your looking for is Creatine Monohydrate, Creapure is considered the best and most of the bigger companies just use this and rebrand.

I can honestly say that creatine ethyl ester was much much better than any other creatine I've ever tried (ast micronized, creapure, cell-tech ect) You really dont need as many tabs as the maker says just take 1-2 g a day and its v v good.
Makes it good value for money as well as it will last 3-4 months per tub.

A Creatine worth having a look at is Kre Alkaline - they only come in capsule form and have a high pH to avoid waste. I know they have it in Workout World on Bachelors walk (cos thats where i bought it) and its reasonably priced. I took these for a couple of weeks there before i got injured bout a month ago and i noticed positive results.

Has anyone else tried Kre Alkaline???
Do you have it in your shop Mickk? If so, whats it priced at? (i understand Workout World are expensive compared to other stores)

    See this link - http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/kre.html

Would you not be better off without Creatine,
I've heard terrible stories about it. Because it supports large muscle growth when you are working out regularly, it can leave you in a bit of a fix in later life when because of your age, you physically can't work out as much, the muscle will rapidly turn to fat, and you'll be left with horrible saggy skin.
Maybe i'm wrong, but that seems reasonable enough to me

Yes you're wrong. For a start, muscle does not turn into fat. It can atrophy if unused and contribute to you needing less calories than before. If you don't adjust your diet accordingly then you will put on fat. There are also many examples of people who have continued to work out well into later life and look great. Someone who builds themselves up to a size where their skin will sag horribly if they shrink down again will not do it on creatine alone, if ya get what I mean. Also, old people just have horrible saggy skin anyway :D .

More specifically on the general safety of creatine... No-one can say what the long term effects of creatine supplementation on people are, but all indicators (tests with ridiculous volumes of supplementation on pigs etc.) are that it is not going to pose a health problem.

Ah, yet another Irish person uninformed about the effects of creatine. I can't really blame you, the amount of misinformation out there about it is ridiculous.

Some of the supposedly "true" anecdotes I've heard about creatine use are hilarious.

I imagine the terrible stories you have heard were either second or third hand, or made up by people who can't control there diet.

"Oh yeah, i was on creatine, when i stopped working out i just got fat really fast" , never mind the fact that they were most likely still consuming the same calories as when they were working out.

One of the rules on the board is that we try and know what we are talking about. You obviously haven't got a clue buddy. I would suggest you either ask question or do research, not make childish assumptions based up things you have "heard".

Now that seems reasonable enough to me.
