    Found this on another forum

    "Everybody's going to hate me..."

We ASSUME Hurley is talking about being given responsibility over the food. Maybe he is. He hasn't lost any weight on the island. Why not? Because HE HAS ALREADY BEEN EATING at one of the hatches!!!

    "It's not going to explode"

Hurley quite confidently says that the computer won't make the island "explode." How does he know? He knows because he already knows what the computer is for.

"This is gonna mess IT all up."

It's going to mess WHAT up? What's "it?" The research experiment? The con?

"We've all got our jobs, Hugo." - Locke

When Hurley wants to back out, Locke pointedly tells Hurley that HIS JOB (Locke's) is to convince people to push the button. And that Hurley has his own "job." If you read that Hurley is an other or part of Dharma/Hanso, then this is Hurley telling Locke that he wants to back out. And keep in mind -- Hurley and Locke are connected already through the box company. And Locke is the only one that calls Hurley "Hugo."

    Hurley speaks Korean

Hurley has a daydream in which he's speaking fluent Korean. There's already speculation that Sun's dad might be tied to Hanso/Dharma. It's easier to dream in Korean when you actually speak it.

    Hurley appears on Korean TV

There was a flash of a moment in one episode in which Hurley is seen on Korean TV.

CHARLIE: Back in the jungle, before we became target practice, you were gonna tell me what inspired this little... quest.
HURLEY: I think the plane crash might have been my fault.
CHARLIE: Don't be daft. How could you possibly --
    ........
CHARLIE: Hurley, bad things happen. Planes crash, people die.
HURLEY: Dude, you really oughta let me finish. (never gets a chance)

"I'm sorry, but I can't let it happen again."
Let WHAT happen again? When you listen to these lines, the flashbacks make the viewer THINK that Hurley is talking about alienation and the greed fostered by the lottery win, but it's quite possible that Hurley means something else.

    Hurley seems to know Libby
It's also a little strange that Hurley seems to know Libby...
this will be revealed in Ep 218

HURLEY [studying Libby's face]: Do I know you from somewhere?

LIBBY: You mean other than the flight?

    HURLEY: Flight?

    Connections:

    o Libby

In "Fire + Water," Hurley says that he knows Libby from somewhere but can't place where.... SRMHI is a possible theory.

    o Kate

Hurley's friend and Kate's step dad were both in the Gulf War. (Could mean something later on.)

    o Locke

Locke's mother and Hurley were both patients at SRMHI

In NUMBERS Hurley learns that he owns a box company in Tustin, CA. Locke works for a box company.

Hurley's gives his old boss at Mr.Clucks, Randy, a job at his box company because he felt that it was his bad luck that caused the metorite. Randy is Locke's boss at the box company.--Confirmed by writers--

    o Sayid

Hurley's friend and Sayid were both in the Gulf War, though on different sides.

    o Sawyer

The lottery lady (Mary Jo) who calls out the winning numbers on TV is the same girl Sawyer is with in Outlaws.

    o Charlie

He stayed at the same hotel as him when they were in in Sydney.

Hurley laughs at Driveshaft music with his friend Jhonny in a music store.

    o Jin

The first time Jin went to the Korean secretary of Environmental Protection, Hurley could be seen on television in the background.

    o Walt

Hurley is reading the same comic book as walt finds in the wreckage on the plane.

Walt is found on the milk carton that Hurley is drinking in the hatch. The carton says missing on it.

maybe hurley was powerfully 'conditioned' before or his lottery win,
then dharma controlled his fortune subsequently, but how did they rig the lottery, a psychic perhaps walt?
hmm just thought of that now....

Hurley's dream at the start of 204, "Everybody Hates Hugo".

Maybe they have remote viewers that were able to influence the lottery draw balls. A long shot maybe, but the remote viewer theory is the best explanation yet for the numbers. If I can find the link for it, I'll post it but maybe you have it yourself stevejazzx.

Id agree with Steve, if Hurley *is* such a major player in the overall plot then I think his money funded DHARMA.

"Dharma" is an ancronym but not an anagram.

Does Hurley Actually Really Mastermind All?

    agamemnon wrote:

If D4 Girls wrote the script then maybe that would Actually Really be the case, like.
Bear in mind folks that before the expedition to the Black Rock, Arzt told Jack that "if you wanna keep a secret, don't tell the fat guy"
Whatever pre-crash links Hugo had with the island, he's doing a damn good job of keeping them a secret, which would lead me to believe that aside from his premonitions and insights, he's nothing to do with it. He is a loudmouth by nature.
There are no characters who haven't been suspected of hiding something at one stage or another, Walt had no ties with the island, or so we believe, yet how many predictions and warnings did he make that forecast the way things unfolded? Locke seems to know his stuff too, but having spent his younger life in the scouts and orienteering, he's used to exploring unknown territory.
One question: How come Locke and Eko are the only 2 characters who have so far been able to face up to the black smoke?

Wrong. In one of the episodes he says he is down a few notches in his belt. Pure sucker theory dude.

wrong, he hasn't lost any weight because

dharma have been dropping food off in the jungle which j and k wil find next ep

he said about one month ago in a magazine interview

"it will be revealed soon why I havn't been losing any weight"

also the remark you refer to 'down a few notches in his belt' was just a defense to charlie I think made out of guilt or embarrassment etc rather than it actually being true

last ep when he says 'hi sun, eh just found a chocolate bar in the forest'

was meant to seem like just a bad excuse and bit of comic relief to the viewer, when actually it's true, it expalins how the hatch never ran out food in 16 years..........

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,217 ✭✭✭FX Meister

So how did the food get into the hatch? Desmond never left the hatch and had never been in contact with anyone since he went in? The food magically appeared in the larder.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,281 ✭✭✭PullMyFinger!

Didnt Gale make a point about the food when he was eating his cornflakes in last weeks episode? I'll check for the exact quote later but Im sure it was along the lines of "yous really dont have a clue do you?" to Jack and Locke.

A red herring, but who's to say the whole lot aren't just gone loopy from exhaustion, hallucinations, starvation, etc. and they're acting a la A Beautiful Mind or The Wakenings and the numbers mean sweet fcuk all?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,281 ✭✭✭PullMyFinger!

If that was the overall explanation JJ Abrams house would be burned to the ground by some crazed US fans after the finale aired.

    Fact ;)

Thats true, it does say "Visitor". Though I don't think that is Doctor Candle, as far as I know Candle only had 1 arm.. it looks like that dude has 2.

About food thing and Hurley not losing weight. Didnt he steal food and Swayer caught him and as a result he has to kill the toad?

I thought it was food he was meant to have given out to people i.e. his job in the hatch and he just kept some back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 286 ✭✭Fridge

Isn't that the bit where he's brought into the room to see Marvin who is over the other side of the room. Hurley is looking in his direction.

Its interesting to note where Hurley is, position wise, in this diagram

    A similar diagram

Interesting theories Pullmyfinger, the first diagram is a bit speculative - Bernard/Hanso????

PS: Do you do anything else other than investigate lost theories :) - Keep up the good work though, I'm far too lazy to follow all these leads.

Also Rose and Real Henry being brothers? Is that just someone jumping to conclusions because they're both black?

    Fake Henry = Aaron's grandad?

Looks like someone with too much time on his hands taking the piss...

    Rose is Walts grandmother

    US Spoiler
In the new video doesnt your man have two arms and it is Candle but using a different name. This could be very big if true. People noted the the date 1980 when the film was made. Ad 20 years to the picture of Candle and you could have the "old" man Hurley was talking to in the Hospital

just been checking those diagrams again and you've missed out the locke sawyer link... sawyer is locke's dad... ie andrew cooper aka sawyer the one who conned ford's parents.

hurley comes from a very catholic background... so having a statue of the virgin mary in a prominent position must mean something... not just a religious thing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,818 ✭✭✭✭The Hill Billy

PullMyFinger is most likely referring to the fact that Hurley's Virgin Mary & the Heroin-filled statues on the island are very similar.

of course they're similar, they're virgin mary statues.. its like saying that my crucifix is similar to charlie's.. NO..

as for hurley's, most likely his mum's..

Hurley will play a major central role in the finale of Season 3

Now given that the Season 3 finale is going to be a
    Ben flashback
    this is very interesting news.

    Is Hurley
    Jacob
    ?

And wasnt he the one that
read who the bad guy in Exposé was from Nikki's script
    ?

    Hmmmmmmmm; very interesting
    finale

Its a dated diagram. I'll have a look around for a more upto date one. The one that isnt showing up in this thread at all (image storing may have deleted it since) was much better too.

Yes, in my opinion a possible 3 things will happen in the finale
Hurley is revealed as Jacob. Wasnt he sent back to camp after the kidnapping of the 4? AND Locke joins the Others OR "Jacob" turns out to be completely made up by Ben to manipulate the others. That alongside the obvious return of Penny to rescue Desmond but thats not really related to the topic ;)

I have a feeling these next 5 weeks of Lost are gonna be breathtaking.

I have a theory about aspects of the show and Hurley is central to it - it's to do with religion. I'll post it later.
