Can you get a excersise bike that generates electricity and is low noise?
I remember thinking of it years back and have saw one on TV years ago. In the film supersize me there was a gym where kids had playstations hooked up to bikes, and they could race each other and view motorbikes on screen, faster you cycle fast you go on screen.

I think it would be a great incentive. I would like to be able to plug my TV into the bike so I would have to keep going or else miss the program.

Or are there other generators for working the arms or something. I know you get torches that charge when you squeeze the handle like those sprung wrist workout things.

EDIT: damn! google is turning up lots of stuff.
    check out this DIY version.
