only ryanair would charge 33c a min for their customer helpline.

i've prob spent a couple of grand over the past few years using ryanair, and now i want to amend a booking and they want to charge me 33c a min, and keep me on the phone god knows how long.....

i can't find any customer email address on their site.

it's such blatent "we don't give a fcuk" service.

has anyone ever had any success changing flight details?

can't you change your booking on their website? I'm sure I saw something about that the last time I booked a flight with them

Keep on the line, you are reducing the cost of my next flight by the minute!

33cent a minute is €19.80 an hour, probably the cost of overheads and employing the people to answer the phones. Pretty reasonable price IMO.

I wouldnt want to indirectly pay for services I do not use, like baggage handling and wheelchair costs.

It's quite simple don't fly with this pathetic airline,i might pay slightly more when i fly thesedays with other airlines but am i glad i do not have to put up with the appalling service i have done previously with "we dont give a f*ck" Ryanair

This is true. I'm not a fan of SwineAir but let's face it - if it wasn't for them most of us wouldn't be travelling abroad as frequently as we do. Ryanair and Easy Jet turned the airline industry upside down from a pricing point of view.

Personally, I don't fly with them for lots of reasons but credit where it's due....

Why can't you use the online change facility?

I just wonder how much Aer Lingus, British Airways or any of the other airlines that charge up to 10 times as much for their tickets charge for customer support calls?

No & there isn't one either. I'm currently, eh........ in ongoing discussions with their complaints department. The only way to contact them is by letter or fax, whereas they just fire off an e-mail in reply. If you try to reply to the e-mail you get an out of office telling you to frick off & write a letter or fax.

in saying that,. i have had problems with it before, but never for too long.

This is really a disgrace. F***ing Ryanair, last week they had the courage to charge me 20 Euro for a return ticket to London. What a rip off of a company!!!:p

Yeah, other companies are so much better. They charge me 5 times more for the ticket, and they are regularly 30-60 min late on each flight....but damn it, the serve you coffee included in the price!!!

It is so frustrating that eveytime I take Ryanair they always arrive at destination before schedule and cannot enjoy the full time of the flight!!!

    OP, STFU!

33c a minute! Wait till they charge you €50 for moving the flight. Just book a new €10 flight.

    John

Also, just as an example, if they had to hire more customer service people, then they will also raise the prices of the tickets to cover the expenses.

I refer you to my blog for a proper "Rant" on how good ryanair are, at least in my eyes. Pay particular attention to the section in Italics.

c'mon how much did you pay for the flight??? any flight i get with them has cost
swett FA!!!! i know when book them what i'm getting, i know if i want a bottle of water its gona be E2.50 so i get one in spar! ryan air have revolutionized the way we all travel. They give us flights at a fraction of the cost other airlines charge and people still bitch about them, what a typical irish attitude!! they make money from there help line, snacks, scratch cards etc to keep prices down which is the way it should be.

How much did you save on your flight say towards air lingus???

I double booked a flight with them before and it took about 3mins to sort it out with the help line:D

seems you can only change the time, but i have to change the airport, funeral came up.

you need to call thier preimum rate line to change it, and after the charges to change flight, you'd prob owe them money.

luckly, i'm going mid week, so it wasn't too bad.

i know they offer a cheap service, and it's better than the rip off days when aerlingus had the monopoly, but they're a minted company, and can afford a little customer care and class.

it's not just the premium rate customer care line, it's all their crap that adds up.

their general attitude is bull5hit, and will come back to haunt em.

in the past year i've started to use bmi more, their flights are also quite cheap, and the level of service is much better, and the flight is more comfortable. i've heard they're even gonna have an online check in facility.

Yeah I wouldn't fly with them if it wasn't cheap and it would be so cheap that I wouldn't complain. I don't find them much cheaper than Aer Lingus though.
It always seems to be about 50 euro in charges.

5 times the price of a ticket really:rolleyes: you'll be pleased to know then i recently flew to Glasgow with Aer Lingus CHEAPER €30 CHEAPER IN FACT than swineair to Prestwick which is 50 mins from Glasgow by train,i flew to London Heathrow a few months ago with BMI €10 cheaper than it was to Gatwick with swineair so your comments are not valid,as for arriving on time,of course because they exxagerate the exact time it takes to reach the destination, for example it takes 55 mins to Gatwick, acording to swineair it takes 1hr 15 mins just so they can say they arrived on or before the scheduled time

Logically I suppose their whole emphasis is to get people to do business online rather than by phone or travel agent. Hence you are effectively paying for a premium service and the cost of a human zombie on the other end of the line.

I agree BMI are the best ive used hands down and i have no qualms at all paying that little extra to fly with them.

This is only a recent thing as well they never used to charge 33cents a minute to access them by phone as i used to phone them several times, rip off bas****s:mad:

There is a reason Ryanair can get away with charging cheap fairs, they are a no frills airline and customer service is a frill. 33c is €20 an hour which has to pay the wage of the CSR, cover expenses of having a customer service centre, and provide profit to the company

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,034 ✭✭✭Devon

...or you could just bypass the premium rate number and call them on 01-2497790 or 01-2497791

They kinda shoot themselves in the foot by advertising contact information:

    Rest of the World +353 1 249 7791

    ...on their site.

Just give out about having to pay 33c a minute and they'll automatically think you dialled the 1530 number, which terminates at 01-2497790 AFAIK.

Well, thats two more to replace the droves that have left :D

Their online check-in is open, but you still have to pick up a boarding pass at Dublin as the ones you print at home aren't accepted. Plus is automatically assigns a seat which you can't change unless you've paid a big, big fare. Real good customer care ;)

to be honest I dont understand how people can claim Ryanair are a crap airline. you get what you pay for, and in my opinion, thats fine. in the last month I have been on 7 ryanair flights. not once has there been a problem bar 1 flight which was delayed an hour, can happen any airline, including what was my eight flight of the month with aer lingus to london which was delayed an hour also

all of the those ryanair flights i have been on cost my nothing expect for taxes. as for changing flight plans, last year i flew with British Airways and had to change my flight. they charged me 70euros for this!!!!, and this was on top of an already expensive flight.

Fair enough ryanair fly you into the back of no-where, but for an extra few euros and an added hour onto your journey to get you where you want to go and the fact you can book a flight 2 weeks prior to departure and still get a cheap flight i find is excellent.

so as the last person said, Michael O'Leary for taoiseacht!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23 Frank OJ

of and in response to Johny who says Ryanair add on time just so they can say they got you there ahead of schedule, well.......if you fly with aerlingus from shannon @7.40 they say you will arrive at heathrow @9.15. thats over an hour and a half to get you from shannon to heathrow. Aerlingus do the exact same thing to cover their ass, so why cant ryanair do it??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,301 ✭✭✭Snickers Man

Nobody can fly you from Dublin to Bishop's Stortford cheaper than Ryanair.

If you really want to go to London, however, just about any other airline (including City jet) works out cheaper in the long run. ,
