My friends little 2 year old has been diagnosed with a particularly nasty brain tumour. Please, please ask for Gods grace in this. He's too young for radio-therapy, so Chemo will start soon. If the chemo doesn't work, they'll have to go with radio which they've been told will most likely leave him brain-damaged:(:(:(

Again, please pray for Gods great mercy. I don't feel I am in a good place myself spiritually speaking, so those of you resting in the strength of God, please pray hard. Thank you all.

guys - just a reminder that the long term illness forum is there if you feel you need to chat more - for people with long term illnesses or their families and friends. I'll be praying for the three of you.

One of my aunt's is going for her first treatment for breast cancer this week, please pray that she is OK.

My daddy is waiting on a biopsy result this week so between this and my aunt I have been very worried - I am very much a daddy's girl even still and would be devastated if anything happened to him. Could you please pray that it is not the big c and that he is OK.

Hi Jimi, have been praying for this child and family over the past while and just wondering how the little chap is doing?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,418 ✭✭✭JimiTime

Thanks Splendour. He's responding well to treatment and has taken his first steps again since the worst of the symptoms displayed themselves. He's coping very well, and apart from obvious moments of overcoming emotion, his parents are also very positive and coping.

Again, thank you, and everyone for your continued prayers.

Sorry to hear that. Any particular reason for that saint?

Edit: sorry I looked the saint up, she is the patron saint of spinal injury.

Will do Onesimus. I know the feeling because I am going through a very difficult time. However I do know in my heart that Jesus is very close to me and will help me in His own way. Say a prayer for us.

You are in good company, many Saints went through the Dark Night of the Soul/attacks by Satan, I will pray for you!

Hello everyone again. Just to update you on the progress of my friends little boy. An MRI revealed his tumours have gone (A source of great joy when that news was given). Unfortunately though, just 3 days ago, his parents were told that cancerous cells are still being detected in his system (Forgive my lack of knowledge, but this is how I understand the diagnosis). He has also started to go deaf, allegedly as a result of the chemo, and now more chemo is needed :( Please continue to keep him in your prayers. God is good, let his mercy be given.

Please Pray for the Debate 'Crucifixion or Crucifiction' in NUIG in Galway tonight. Pray for the Christian speaker Dr. David McKay.

Please Pray that it will be a civil debate and that Dr. McKay will have a clear intellegent and thought provoking argument. Pray that the Muslims in attendance will have their heart touched by what they hear.

Pray Many Christians will turn up, spread out and not sit in 'holy huddles' and be willing to speak to Muslims after. Pray we will have patience, calm and grace as well as wit and wisdom to answer all questions.

How this meeting came about was the Islamic Society in the college asked our church to debate. It's a rare oppurtunity and we accepted, but we know we simply need heaps of prayer. It's on tonight Monday 22nd, in the O' Flaherty Theatre in NUIG (Galway) at 8pm.

This is really good. I saw this on my FB feed for the NUIG Christian Union. Just to say, I have a huge faith in the Christian Union movement in Ireland. I remember being involved with mine on campus. This is such a great opportunity to proclaim the gospel of Jesus both to Muslims and to non-believers. Please let us know how this goes :)

We think it went quiet well, plenty of free Qurans for the Christians and Gospels according to Luke were accepted my our Muslim counterparts (in fact, we gave almost all of them away). Attendance was excellent. We even had some who were not believers and came out of curiosity. The Moderator was good.

The Debating didn't suprise me, two very different styles, and those of us who had certain belief's going in probably didn't change them, however, the Christian speaker was gracious and patient and didn't play into opponents style. We have to pray now that the truth was the winner on the night (sometimes debaters think that winning is more important than truth from what I witnessed), but I hope in the Lord and that the audience could disern some of the 'chancer' remarks that were made.

Today I pray for Kate (2) and Grace (12 weeks) Gilmore, and particularly for their families. Unimaginable pain and grief. Unimaginable.

My thanks for prayers and intercession for my pal Greg. He is still in a lot of trouble with his spine and some complications that have set in. He has a long way to go medically but the initial urgency and severity has gone for now. Prayers still needed please ! Thank you.

Will the 'debate' be posted anywhere online? I think this idea of just talking and inviting a listening ear is cool! I DO believe most people are discerning, and even if some think winning counts, or make that mistake - these things do open up a dialogue, a worthwhile one too! Good on Galway NUIG! We need more of this....

Let's have some fun and some good chats about our faith without fear :)

As Christians, can we pray for the evil of abortion never to be legalised in Ireland. Could we also pray for the soul of Savita Halapannavar and her child, may God take them to Himself in Heaven.

Not trying to start a debate here:

But can we pray that the rcc attitude to abortion is changed that what happened in the case above never has to happen again.
