What a way to win the game, superb goal. Chelsea probably edged it, Drogba smacked the post just beforehand too, although Jenas missed a great chance to make it 2-1 earlier on.

Football's a funny ol' game. Blackburn are a shadow of the team that really stuck it to Spurs last week. Villa more than holding their own. 0-0 half time. Baros missed a great chance.

As did Barry and Phillips, Villa all over Blackburn for 20 minutes but can't score, probably end up loosing now!

Hehe, curse of the post, Blackburn go 1-0 in front. Todd scores a scrappy goal after a goal-mouth melee from a Pederson corner.

That's the stuff. Hopefully Rovers can add another one now.

Bellamy shows again why he's a striker on-song at the moment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Villa couldn't hit the back of a barn door tonight. Baros is very convincing in one-on-one situations, he missed two tonight. Second one especially should have gone in. He also missed a header from six yards out a minute or two later.
I guess Blackburn fans will say it's justice from last week when they didn't get anything out of the Spurs game after dominating it. Do they take 5th back off Bolton now?

I think so. The news earlier said they would until Arsenal play tomorrow anyway.

Well it's the only exciting run-in now, with the championship decided, and relegation largely decided (and to be honest, I can't see any of the positions changing).

Everyone is tipping Arsenal again now. I think Spurs could nip it.

My money is now on er Bolton as they've got games in hand.

They've got the FA Cup too though, and their squad is stretched slightly at the moment as it is.

Will Batman survive? Will Robin use his utility belt? :D

Man Utd: Van der Sar, Neville, Ferdinand, Brown, Silvestre, Ronaldo, O'Shea, Giggs, Park, Rooney, Saha.
Subs: Howard, Evra, van Nistelrooy, Vidic, Rossi.

Newcastle: Given, Ramage, Boumsong, Elliott, Babayaro, Solano, Parker, Emre, N'Zogbia, Ameobi, Shearer.
Subs: Harper, Dyer, Bowyer, Luque, Clark.

Saha is starting, Fergie said he's on a great fun of form and deserves to start!!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Does Fergie actively look for confrontation?? Ruud on the bench again, what the ****?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,956 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Oh so he should play Ruud even though Saha is on form and they won their last game with Saha up front.

Ever hear of "dont change a winning side"????

Don't forget they were losing until Van Nistelrooy came on and set up Ronaldo's equaliser.
Hey I'm all for Saha, I've been defending him all season here during some of his harder times. Why not play Van Nistelrooy and Saha? Rooney hasn't scored in I don't know how many league games. Probably because he's English and there'd be uproar.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

If RVN is a sensible chap he'll see the bigger picture (Rooney is English!)

    Mike.

is this on pay per view/sky sports?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,956 ✭✭✭✭Villain

Rooney plays a different role to that of Saha or RVN IMO, he dops off the other striker and runs at the defence, Saha and RVN wouldn't be as effective without Rooney in the team IMO.

    Edit*
Its on Sky Sports 1, channel 401 and its followed by Arsenal V Liverpool at 4pm

Rooney just scored an easy goal.
Can't believe Ruud is on the bench, he seems fine with it, he understands the season is over and it's blooding time, but i'm annoyed, I like watching him play.
Once he is ok with it, I'm fine.
If we had agame against Chelsea today, I'm 100% sure he'd start, and I'm sure he is too.

1 nil Rooney in like a flash on a bad back pass, lobs Given. Thats why hes playing!!!!

One nil united,Rooney lobs the keeper, howler by the toon's central defender

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Saha just did woeful there, absolutely woeful.

Rooney again, United just ripped them apart. O'Shea the top class midfielder with a great drive forward :) What's the world coming to

The reason United are soo good is because Park is playing, the guy makes the team way way better.

Whoops! 2 nil, Rooney again. Newcastle back to thier old ways.

    Mike.

    Two nil,rooney.

What was saha doing?Jesus, hes better than RvN?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,617 ✭✭✭✭PHB

Saha just missed another sitter, seriously needs a goal that isn't a tap in to get his confidence up.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,006 ✭✭✭✭The Muppet

If saha continues to play like that surely we'll see Ruud before the end of the game.
