How to lose 17K in 5 hours

I was playing some 10/20 today after spotting a good game. I mostly play 5/10 and 3/6 after moving up a few weeks ago but now and again I'll dabble in 10/20 if the game looks profitable.

There was this guy called bonekiller on an incredible streak. He'd sat down with 1.5K and worked it up to over 17K in a few hours basically through luck, the cards just went his way every time. He played a really loose aggressive style, basically he was a big fish. I'd say one guy must have lost at least 8K to him before deciding enough's enough.

I took a hit off him myself when we both were all in on the turn with top 10's King kicker on the turn and he rivered a flush with his K10d. Anyway, I bought back in and kept playing him, even after the rest of the table left. I've been doing well lately heads up and I knew I this guy would have a hard job keeping that stack his game was so poor.
I was going alright, worked my way up to about 2.5K. A few more people joined and the game continued. Anyway, I took my time and picked my spots and gradually took increasingly large chunks out of his stack.

Here's an example - Note he's down to 15K now and I'm up to 4K, he'd been getting pissed off that he was starting to loose and was constantly raising so after some deliberation I decided he'll have to show me a better hand here. He didn't.

By this stage he must have been on mega-tilt, the guy had lost $12,000 in the space of a few hours.

There was a few times during the game where I was considering leaving. I'd after making a few K in a matter of hours, why not quit while I was ahead? Thankfully, I came to my senses and decided to stay and finish the job.
I'd been all in against this guy a few times and he'd folded, and I'd bluffed and shown a few times to wind him up even more.

    Example: -

Eventually I was up over 10K and he was down to 5K.
He was dying to get me back, regularly raising my blind $100 or even $160. I had a feeling that he could throw all his money in the pot at any stage now for a crack at my stack.
I picked up pocket 6's in mp and called his $80 raise, hoping but not really expecting to hit the flop. I'd been calling off hundreds with pocket pairs, set hunting and I wasn't up much from it.
I hit the flop hard. The fish checks and it's up to me. Hmm.... how much to bet? Will I bet the pot? Maybe I should bet 1K? Well it didn't take me too long to decide on the correct amount. Bet the whole fooking lot! I didn't want him outdrawing on my set with the stacks this deep and I figured if he has the A, there's a very good chance he'll call here. Well, call he did (with AQ), and I took down a $10,595 pot!!!!!!

    Here's the hand:

Nice one, I just opened that table up to see if he was still plugging away. He called an all-in on the turn for a $3500 pot with 56 for an open ender. You should have stayed!

    Ty guys.
I'm half tempted to go back on. He's after buying in again and working his way back up to 6K somehow. I can't understand how he's after making another few K, who the hell is paying him off?

I have seen 75 players waiting for a table before on Pokerstars, it was when BBuddy was going all in literally every other hand preflop on 10/20 with 20k in front of him at one point, was one of the most enjoyable 20 minutes of poker I've ever seen.

Sandino limped k8o utg+1. Is that because hes a fish or because he wants to get into pots cheaply with bonekiller?

yeah, you're probably right not to play in it mate, stick to the levels where you can continue to play some excellent poker

been watching that table a bit and it looks like he might be off Tilt so looks like a good decision!

I like how sandino is playing actually, noone is punishing his preflop looseness and he is playing very aggressively and well post flop

HJ, if you can't play you're normal game you probably shouldn't be playing it at all. I've no doubt you're good enough to beat those players, but if the stakes are putting you off then maybe you should just leave it.

You realise that he posted a handhistory of a bluff reraise in the post where he said he was afraid to bluff?

I've been watching it for a while and it doesn't seem to be clicking for you. Bonekiller seems to have tightened up considerably too.

would have to say the same, although it is enjoyable to watch this game, might be worth trying to crack it another time although it is not my place to say!

sandino is a loser overall apparently and bonekiller is a brand new account.

Well that didnt go to well. I dont even have the hh because I closed the table.

Idiot makes it 60 utg, button calls. I make it 160 more with AJo from the BB, they both call. Flop is 7T2, 2 hearts, I bet 500. utg folds, button all in. I call 700 more, he has 89 hearts.

UL. It didn't really look like you were catching any cards to be honest. Mike's picked up where you've left off.

You can't complain about pot committing yourself with A high out of position. TBF he is not folding after that flop. If you knew who Lagunitas was you probably don't make that move.

Never been so nervous playing poker. Not for the stakes or anything, I had Conor Tate, Paul Jackson and Nick gibson watching my every move in the bar in The Monte Carlo Bay. I had to log off as they were kicking us out :)

I wasnt complaining, and I would never expect him to fold there (He is a favourite on that flop). Im more than happy with the way I played the hand, but I wouldnt be if I was him. His preflop call is terrible, as you can see by his failure to push A hi off the pot. Im not going to play scared just because its for more money than Im used to.

edit to ask if pot committing yourself with A hi in position would be more acceptable!

    and who is he?

I lost a fairly big pot against the guy at the weekend... very similar to hjs

    5 10 NL 9 handed.
(three limpers). I make it 60 from button with AJo. two callers. flop 569r
lagunitas bets 100. utg+2 folds. I raise to 300 trying to represent top pair. he moves all in. pretty shortstacked so I call. Turns over 78o for the nut straight.
