    Hi Guys

    Quick Question about Creatine.

I've been taking Maximuscle - Creatamax x capsules (4 a day) for just over 3 weeks now.
Is there any benefit from taking it every month or 1 month on 1 month off

    Thanks

    Jetlag

Okay, here is the low down with creatine in general form i.e creatine monohydrate.

General size of serving should be about 5 grams.
The "loading phase" is really not a requirement ( loading phase is 5 grams a day four times daily ) but you will reach muscle saturation within 7 days. If you take just 5 grams a day you will reach saturation within 30 days.
Recent studies have shown that people who came off creatine did not suffer any drop in muscular creatine levels for 21 days.

Now then, what is this telling us. Supplement companies would have you believe that you need to take 5 to 10 grams daily ( whether training or not ) in order to see the benefits of creatine. Yet, after a month on, you can go 3 weeks off before your creatine levels will begin to drop, and your workouts will suffer.

As such, just to be on the safe side, i would recommend that you only take creatine on your workout days, thats all. And even then only after your workout to replace any possible lost creatine in the muscles from you workout.

Oh yeah, and Maximuscle is pretty much a rip. Very few of the fancy new creatines can do anything that creatine mono cant' do with a little bit more time so i would just go with some form of Creapure TM Creatine from one of the manufactures ( once again though, not Maximuscle as they will charge your for 300 grams of it what other companies will sell 500grams to a kilo of it for ).

Don't get caught up in the advertising, trust the cynics!

Oh yeah, and there is no reason that i am aware to cycle creatine.

    Cheers Dragan

I'll check a few of them out. The on;y reason I went wit hthe Maximuscle is because they're capsules.
I tried taking it in powder form before and by week 2 I was nearly puking my ring

    Ended up binning it.

No probs with the caps though
