Just wondering if anybody has decided to give up anything for Lent.

I've decided to give up Alcohol :eek: Yes you heard me, alcohol. I've come across alot of doubting thomas' in work and at home when they heard this, I'm going to make it though. It's not specifically a Lent thing, but more of a challenge to myself.

Never give up anything (since I was made as a child anyway)

But:- I'm bridesmaid in a few months so I've decided to make Lent the opportunity to tone up & lose a few lbs.

giving up takeaways, sweets, chocolate, biscuits, cakes, etc
(All the not very good for you stuff)

Oh, & hopefully the exercising thing will come naturally!

i have to say that i am in no way religious but i do think that a period of fast is actually a good idea. This year however i am not giving up anything in particular as i am still on the eating well and going to the gym regurarly thing from new years, so i have for the most part cut out the types of things i would be giving up like coke and crisps

actually the Christian-voodoo-mumbo-jumbo is suppsoed to be taking things up for lent, i.e. going out of your way to do things, not giving things up.
