If i recall my pharmacy right 5-htp while a precursor to serotonin is useless in vivo as it can't cross the blood brain barrier. I'll check it up in my text books at home but i'm pretty sure.

You can snort it or take it sublingually and it should work. If you're taking it orally you can take carbidopa (Lodosyn) to prevent conversion to seratonin. It's all sorta pointless now as I'm pretty sure you can buy L-Tryptophan legally. Your best going online for that kinda stuff IMO.

Edit: 5-HTP can cross the BBB, but seratonin can't so it has to be made in the brain. An enzyme breaks it down to 5-HT (seratonin). That's why you either have to get it in fast and limit liver involvement (snorting) or disable the enzyme (carbidopa). Like I say anyway, just get L-Tryptophan.
