I got a tube of Berocca over the weekend - 15 tablets. You dissolve one in water each day and apparently it gives you 700% rda of vitamin C, 1600% rda of something else... and lots more vitamins in massive amounts.

What is the point of such a supplement... as I thought that anything over 100% of the rda was such excreted from the body?

The packet says to take one per day... but surely taking such massive amounts is somehow wrong?

    Opinions welcome.

As far as I can remember in Berocca is only Vit C and all the B complex range. So yes your right in saying anything not used will be passed away as they are all water soluble and will not build up like fat soluble vitamins. The RDA recommend is usually for the average Joe. If you’re training very hard or under stress these Vits C and B complex are very important and you may need more than the average Joe, especially this time of year with all the colds and bugs going around.

But there’s no substitution to a well balance diet.

    Cheers
