best of luck man. failed to qualify for it this week - maybe next week!

Yep I'll be playing this tonight. Haven't had a good run in it recently, hopefully tonight will be different. Starting to get a bit paranoid about the stars software though, last night in the $35k I was second in chips with 100 left, went out in 75th or so after losing with AA vAJ, AA vAK, AK vQ10, and then to top it off AQ v KQ, after I hit my ace!!!!!!!!!!!!! And all of them were all in preflop. Sick. Ok I'm over it now, concentrating on tonight!

yeah i qualified in a $29 STT about 2 hours ago but i was playing this even if i had to buy straight in.

Just a note for anyone trying to qualify. Stars have started a lovely format $11 double shootout tournaments running every hour during the week. They are normal and turbo formats. 2 tickets guaranteed and if full (and have been 99% that i have seen) the rest of the final table gets $35 back .. so they are great value imo

Watching JJprodigy's table too, and hes getting non stop stick about the granny incident :)

Some funny comments and rebuttles by JJ too

on the flop im thinking straight away any 5,6,7c fold straight away. Similarily paired board. You gotta remember there are 5000+ players half of which will be out in the first 1/5th of the tournament ... although i should never have been in the hand in the first place!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

    agreed

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

was itching to play a hand .. silly mistake .. no more allowed!

Just started a STT to keep the concentration levels up!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

nice double up with the kings i was waiting on the suckout that river took an awful long time to come out hehe

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

was only play i had on flop ... calling my raise was ludicrous but thats why i raised so much, so donks are put off calling with half hands ... but then again thats what i need i guess! nice to get a few chips early :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

57 hands i sat until i got A10 for a few chips in a race against 55 ... deck better hurry up and batter my face :o please deck .. hit me hard!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

you are doing very well considering you are so card dead. JJprodigy is just after getting knocked out he called an all in with ajsuited and lost to aqoffsuit

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

what was going on there? A lot of chips committed

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

    had AKsuited

i thought his flat call was weakness utg ..thought i could scare him

but i could not commit flop :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

well you are back in it now after that double up

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

Had AJ in SB just before break and wanted to flat call but greed said raise he came back over top and deck has been kind so i let it go.

I feel and know im not playing good at all ... just had a bit of a walk to try clear my head there .. here is hoping i can get into the groove soon

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

plenty of respect anytime you push, just another 200 unpaid places left, hang in there.

What happened there? High pocket pair? Put him on the ace?

Edit: Nice timing with the aa there

EDIT EDIT: Double up twice in a row buck up to average now. Well done

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

had 10s was gonna push :(

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

i really had to think about that JJ

gut instinct i was good .. glad only one caller with the 8's as the Ace, King and Queen came out

put my tournament on the line there .. could have laid it down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

you have to take chances if you are going for big money, at worst you were fifty fifty. But it was the right call imo

Just gone - button had 17k against my 11k - he had been raising my bb a lot so I pushed all in this time with 66. He called in a flash with K10 and hit his 10 on the flop. Why do I always run into these muppets?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

ul mate .. so close to the money too! k10 is harsh alright

still up to 640 in prizemoney, you got the cards when it really mattered.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,179 ✭✭✭White Knight

thats true! Patience is a virtue -- some stats since after 2nd break:

During current Hold'em session you were dealt 102 hands and saw flop:
    - 1 out of 12 times while in big blind (8%)
    - 1 out of 11 times while in small blind (9%)
    - 5 out of 79 times in other positions (6%)
    - a total of 7 out of 102 (6%)
    Pots won at showdown - 5 of 5 (100%)
Pots won without showdown - 4

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

unlucky there with your 10 10 versus trip 8s,

    Nice stats, :p
