I could never stomach the stuff no matter how committed I was to including it in my diet. And I won't buy casein protein when I'm shelling out for whey. I tried Cottage cheese with tinned fruit last night and it tasted great. Handy tip for anyone else who is in the same position as me. I know, I know, alot of sugar in juice of tinned fruit... but it works for me

actually , as long as you make sure the tin says 'in juice' its fine. If it says its in syrup, it'll be full of sugar. But just check the ingredient label and make sure there's no sugar added, and then eat away to your hearts' content!

Whenever i feel inclined to eat some (rarely do) i stick it in a protein smoothie and you can't taste it at all

Well I must be a freak 'cos I love the stuff! Especially with a few teaspoons of ground flax and accompanied with a glass of water.

One of the most disgusting noises I have ever heard is you eating cottage cheese.

I reckon there is still some on my walls from the food fight at halloween.

Here is a recipe for a nice dip which includes cottage cheese, natural yoghurt and beans. You can use any beans you like though I prefer Kidney beans.
this is delicious with oat cakes as a snack....

    Spicy Red Bean Dip
5.5 oz can red kidney beans rinsed and drained very well
    4 oz cottage cheese
3 small spring onions trimmed and chopped
a clove garlic peeled and chopped
    2 tablespoons natural yoghurt
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
    pinch of chilli powder

Place all ingredients in a blender and process until at the consistency you like. I like slightly rough. Serve with a selection of veggies such as carrots and cucumber sticks or eat with oatcakes.
