Hey dude, was reading your "get to know me" and i saw that you do chest and back, and will do chest and back again.

Do you do each day with more emphasis on the other i.e day one chest and back, heavy on chest, day two chest and back, heavy on back?????

Or is it the same harsh methods all the time??? :D

tbh it varies. the two workouts were part of different weeks, i.e the last workout of one week and the first of another. The reason for that was college gggrrrr lots of hours.

I usually only put chest and back together for about 3-4weeks, before changing my routine around.

I don't emphasise one over the other. Example workout would be:

Bench press, Barbell row, incl Db press, high pullew row, deadlifts - in that order, i like the whole push/pull thing:) Once a month or so i'll superset the push/pull exercises together i.e bench press ss with barbell row, incl press with pulley row etc. Can't lift much weight with it but you're destroyed afterwards!!!

edit: feel free people to point out/change things

I don't think i'd be able for 2 back and chest workouts a week!!! Though when i start bulking again i will try 2leg days hams one day quads the other

cheers dude, sometimes i go about a few weeks where i bump up the calories by about 500 a day, up the sleep by about 2 hours and find i can train them twice a week. I did chest and back like that before, hence the question!

I definitely recommend the double split for legs, have been doing just that since Christmas and can only say good things about it.

Another question for tribulus, 'cos I didn't want to hi-jack the other thread. That dude doing pull-ups with an extra 30kg, he wasn't a strikingly handsome guy in UCD per chance?

30 kg for 10 is quite impressive. What's your 1 RM? What's your bodyweight?(I coudl check the other thread but am too lazy)

Great will give that a try in 5weeks time, while im here what do think of an example workout for this split:

    quad day: Squats 5 x 5, Lunges 3 x 6-10, Leg Press 4 x 10 -15

    Ham day: SL Deadlifts/snatches 5 x 6-8, Glut-ham raises 5 x 6-8 (i can only manage controlled negatives at the moment:o )

    Varying exercises/reps/order after 3-4weeks

    thanks

I would have been about 180lbs at the time. I'm 196lbs now. I used to be able to do a 1 arm chin with 10kg but I haven't tried it in a while.

Was that a genuine one arm chin with your free hand down by your side (and possibly holding onto a 10 kg plate) If so - very impressive!

Yes it was, actually the weight was on a chain on my waist - I was basically fooling around before some proper (2 handed) chin-up sets, because I just happened to be feeling strong that day?? Thanks, some guys on strength forums said it was good too (actually they said it was BS and that I should video myself doing it and post it :D ).

Just read your post on the 'getting to know each other' thread. That's a cool attitude to training. I sort of get stuck between wanting to be big, wanting to not be fat and wanting to have serious relative strength (grip strength particularly). Can you pinch two 45s yet? (I can't by the way :( )

No way :) Pinching plates is not something I have ever really worked on though. Might look into it. I have read about masochists doing farmer's walks while pinching plates in both hands, sounds interesting

I found some good tips for one arm chinning. One of the authors of the article is a 61 year old guy who does one arm chins
    http://www.dragondoor.com/articler/mode3/232/

    I like the quote
"training for a one-arm chin....seems to attract obsessive personalities" :D

I'll aim to do one of these by this time next year.
