Who cares? ****ing scummy piece of **** Sun trying to ruin more people's lives. No self respecting football fan should have any truck with that rag.

God help the pair if this comes out who they are.

Agreed. I propose a ban on all Sun linkage.

you gotta love the "subtle" sun

Chelsea football legend Peter Osgood, 58, said the players could face abuse from rival supporters if their names are made public.
PLAYER A is described as a household name with a reputation as a rebel on and off the pitch.

PLAYER B is said to be a goal-scoring midfielder.

fairly obvious who Player B is meant to be. I wouldn't beleive this tripe anyway.

Ok so I know its lousy but do we actually have any incline into who these players are.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,399 ✭✭✭✭Thanx 4 The Fish

No and if we did we would not post it on this forum.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

Oh ya I forgot that would be very very naughty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭wheres me jumpa

    Here here!

Seems logical seen as we always slate whoever posts any links/stories from the Sun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

I dont feel the need to slate the OP.

I am not slating the OP but in general when a story from the Sun is quoted it is always laughed at and for good reason. This story in particular is going to be a field day for the tabloids.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Actually, bans would be unnecessary because people should learn that if they ever post The Sun as their source, their story will lose credibility.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

Well put it this way I wait with bated breath for the actual outcome, I just hope it aint a Man United player, we have enough troubles.

Its not. Allegedly its two London clubs players

we cares? its called a private life for a reason! its private what a whole lot of homophobic **** stiring from a rag of a news paper, for the majority of people who can barley read

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

This is the most disgusting piece of "journalism" I have seen in a long time. What a dispicable way to finish off an article...
Ex-Nottingham Forest striker Justin Fashanu was Britain’s first openly gay star.

    He committed suicide in 1998.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

Who cares if people are homophobes or not, if the players are actually gay they will never live it down from opposing fans.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,199 ✭✭✭Jimi-Spandex

maybe this is a little in sensitive but you have to laugh at Osgood's comments.

"Obviously there’s going to be gays in every walk of life. We never had any at our club — I don’t think I’d get in the communal bath with them anyway" :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

Well its a very true stark fact, this will alienate the supposed players on and off the field.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,953 ✭✭✭blu_sonic

thats not the point tin case sure they'll get stick just like lee chapman about ash c'est la vie, but thats an excuse for "journalism"

I support any ban on direct linkage to the Sun/Mirror/NOTW etc...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

This is truly sad , bans on newspaper links.

    Theyre not newspapers...

First I heard of all this was the front page of todays Herald, I thought Cascarino had come out of the closet.

Big picture of him with headline of "Cascarino on the life of gay footballers" or something along those lines

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

No I forgot they were toilet paper . :P

For their treatment of Hillsborough alone, links to The Sun are banned on many football forums.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,479 ✭✭✭wheres me jumpa

Im not insisting on a ban. It just seems that nobdoy here appreciates a link to the Sun. Particular with this story, we all know the field day they will have. They wont stop until the players in question are ruined.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,117 ✭✭✭✭MrJoeSoap

True, and appreciated. The Sun are not a newspaper I ever wish to be associated with, and any self-respecting football fan should feel the same way.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,953 ✭✭✭blu_sonic

agreed for hillsborough alone we should "encourage" people to avoid linking ti the sun

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

This place is fast becoming a strict regime of rules and regulations. If someone wants to post a link to a tabloid newspaper good luck to them.

Try winning an argument here by backing up your argument with a link to the Sun:p

its not that we don't want a "ban" just for some consideration for those effectet by the sun, it contributes noting to football

    I agree.

Being a liverpool fan i will never ever buy the S*n. Never look at there website etc. Same as most tabloids, but i have special hatered for the S*n.

But i think to ban links is very OTT. If people want to link them, fine. If people dont like them, dont read them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,679 ✭✭✭Chong

This isn't argument this is stupidity if someone wants to link to a tabloid let them off FFS.

    Obviously it does because

    1) Tabloids sell millions of papers.
    2) It has a thread running wild here about it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,953 ✭✭✭blu_sonic

its not a ban, just asking us the users to boycott it

I am sure Robbies book talks about plenty of topics, but I dont think we are going to find out whos doing who in the rear so we will have to wait and see what the Sun gives us.

Read it good book , but the point is most of the rumours fans dive on come from these papers. If it wasnt for these papers the sticky above would have 4 posts.
The News of the World just make stuff up but its funny, but its best not to take it seriously as they have before printed things about Pool fans and others that have proved they simply will print anything if someone will buy it.

Why do people care about anyones love life, is it suddenly sacred because they are gay. Anyway, I think Robble made it very public on the pitch who he thought was gay :D

Reading Mein Kampf won't turn you into a Nazi... calling for the censorship of newspapers might though.
