Hi I'm a bit worried as my BF takes 2 caffene tablets before he trains as he says it helps him train harder, surely this is not good for you such a sudden increase in heart rate is dangerous is it not?

i don't know what the possible dangers are but some pros use it as it's not on the banned list and it gives like a 10% boost

A regular cup of coffee has anything from 100-170mg caffeine in it, and your average caffeine pill has about 200mg. So caffeine tabs are really not super-packed with much more caffeine than drinking a couple of cups of coffee back to back. Caffeine stimulates the heart, dilates the blood vessels (increasing blood pressure), causes bronchial relaxation , increases gastric acid production, and boosts the metabolic rate

Caffeine is considered an 'ergogenic' aid- that is, it will enhance the performance of an athlete. In low doses (such as what your bf is taking) it can result in increased alertness and wakefulness, faster and clearer flow of thought, increased focus, and better general body coordination. In greater quantities though (over 2 grams), you can start to see insomnia, agitation, tremors, and rapid breathing.

So I wouldn't worry about you bf taking a couple of tabs before training. A dose that low is extremely unlikely to be of any harm
