Hi all! I want to improve general fitness levels and put on some (muscle) weight. I lead a very sedentary lifestyle (office job) and could easily fit in some activity in evenings/at weekends. However, I am really lazy when it comes to this kind of thing and have never been the sporty type. The last time I ran I imagine was when I was twelve years old and that would be because it was in the three-legged race and I really had no choice!!:)

I definitely think I am underweight. I fluctuate between 11 and 12 stone and am 6'2''. I am basically skinny. Paradoxically though, I do have a belly (which I would like to lose!). I eat probably disastrously. I always skip breakfast. I have done so since I was probably, again, 12. I have to leave the house every morning by eight the latest and am always disastrously slow in the morning, so I don't see how I would fit in time for a breakfast! I would probably get hungry about half-nine, but would maybe have a cup of (herbal) tea to tie me over until lunch at 12 or 12:30. Lunch would be an escalope of pork/turkey with some veg and either potatoes or chips. (It's canteen food.) Not particularly massive portions. Cover a plate, but nothing that would make you go "what a feed!" I would then have dinner in the evening, which would either be pasta or maybe a stew. I would generally eat two portions. I don't snack (usually) during the day. I don't smoke, but I am partial to a few drinks. I don't overdo it (anymore) though.

I have no exercise regime. I can't afford to join a gym as I need to save every second penny I've got at the moment.

Any advice? What exercises could I do at home (without requiring alot of equipment: I have bought some weights though). I would be able to do about five press-ups before calling it a day. Similar with sit-ups. (What's the difference between sit-ups and crunches etc.????)

I guess I know I need to just start exercising and eating more, but am looking for some particular instructions that might motivate me.

    Thx!

By the way, I'm 25 and male!
