Lunch advice

Im currently still in school studying and i always just get school lunches because of their convenience. Im trying to loose weight at the moment started weights and trying to do cardio too but what i really need help with is my diet.
In the mornings i just have 2 r 3 slices of brown bread and a cup of tea and then an apple and banana b4 lunch. The lunch in school is very basic; chicken curry, pasta, chips, pizza and basic vegetables. I was wondering if it would b better for me to just start making my own lunches and bringing them to school because then i can just chose what i eat.
Could someone advise on what to do and if i start bringing my own things what should i ideally eat?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

The school lunch seems OK, just ask for extra chicken & veggies and go light on the pasta (if you find that you're sleepy in the afternoons - otherwise you might be OK to carry on as normal). Odds are your problem is more closely related to your evening eating & exercise habits. If all you do in the evening is watch TV or study, then you don't need alot of carbs in the evening (them's potatoes/pasta/rice & the likes). You didn't mention your evening meal but if it's got alot of the above mentioned items in it then you may want to cut down on them a bit.

Also your breakfast sounds boring, but hey, that's just me :D .

I just find that i cant eat that much in the mornings no matter how much i try nd yes i do know how important it is.

In the evenings i have something like chicken, steak, pasta etc normally with potatoe on the side. And i sumtimes snack on something like garlic bread afterwards.

First of all, record what you actually eat in a week, and at what times. With that in hand, you should spot any shortcomings.

Are you just eating the 3 squares a day? For best advice, post up your full details and goals. I've noticed you've got a few questions in other threads, With your current diet and exercise details, people will be able to advise you better.

And be honest, no-one will knock you for it, and you're on the right track.

Thanks but the only thing is that its kind of difficult to control my diet as i basically just eat what i can and whatever's normally put in front of me.

And as for exercise - i still havent joined a gym (just havent had the time).
But i do have a bench at home and i do a few exercises every 2nd day r so.

Here's my routine at the moment:

    Bench press - 3 sets 15 reps
Bent over rows - 3 sets 15 reps
Close grip press - 3 sets 15 reps
    bicep curls - 3 sets 15 reps
    upright rows - 3 sets 15 reps
    tricep extensions - 3 sets 15 reps
    Incline press - 3 sets 15 reps
    seated press - 3 sets 15 reps
    sit ups - 2 sets 50 reps
plank - 2 - 3 sets for as long as i can hold it

I also played badminton 4 or 5 times a week but seasons over now so im not really going to training anymore plus im still recovering from some injuries. Due to this ive had 2 cut out tricep extensions and the sort 4 a while
Ive also started to do about 20- 30 mins on the exercise bike when i can.

I do this as often as i can but often i dont have the time

    Any opinions?

What age are you dude? To be honest thats plenty of work for a young buck. It really depends on what your goals are.

Now, it's not that I'm a complete carbophobic, it's just that most people eat too much of it - all of the highlighted foods in your post are high in carbohydrates. If your activity levels in the evening aren't high, or you haven't done a big glycogen depleting workout shortly beforehand, then you don't need it. Have the potato only, and up the veggies. Make that change and you'll probably find you're much more in the mood to eat in the morning.
