shouldnt there be a seperate COD2 forum? COD2 is far better than COD1 and i dont think this forum is very active with the "COD" heading, things are dead in here i reckon. ignore me :o

You can talk about anything Call of Duty related here. CoD, CoD:UO, CoD2, clans etc. etc. There's no need for a new forum for each game. Just like the Battlefield forum covers all Battlefield games. And the Counter Strike forum covers CSS and 1.6. Final Fantasy forum covers Final Fantasy I-XII (or whatever the latest is...). Half-Life = HL1+2+LC+Aftermath. Pro Evo, Unreal, Quake and so on.

    agree.

There is no point in creating a new forum for every release of a game.

If you create a forum for cod and cod2 you are going to be cutting the amount of posts in half for each forum. And there are very few posts anyway.

i guess the COD series just doesnt match the battlefield series, like when i look at the battelfield forum there is at least 10 viewing, then i look at COD and its epmty! need some life in here! post some links or something COD nerds :p

there should be at least a sub forum for COD2, leaves more options and you know what threads relate to what. *cough* football management forum *cough*

Why? then you would have the place full of forums and sub-forums for every game released. It took ages to get the CoD forum moved to here so trying to get a second forum just for CoD2 is a non starter. Also a waste of time

    Hi Bobbly,

Thank you for voicing your opinion mate! ;) But it's just never going to happen... I predict CoD2 will fully replace CoD & UO very soon (would have already if the auld ones such as Drap and Spooky learned how to let go of the past! :p ) so there is no need for a separate/sub-forum.

Havent a clue the last time I got to play online. Quit BF2 clan NRG because I hadn't the time anymore to regularly play. Hopefully will get online Thursday night for a bit of a bash on CoD2. I think I have played about an hour of it so far online since buying at Xmas:mad: Gone is the days of spending 5-6 hours each nite on CoD/BF

Does anybody have aproblem with cod 2 blue screening? I have a 3gig rig, 1 gb ram, x800 pci express. If i run the game in DX 7, all settings up high, I have no probs. Does anybody have a workaround- apart from DX 7

Sorry but what do you mean by "cod 2 blue screening"?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,295 ✭✭✭jonnybadd

Presumably he's getting the 'blue screen of death'. This is, with me anyways, due to some sort of display driver conflict. Try completly uninstalling your graphics drivers in safe mode, then re-install them.

This has happened to me on a couple of occasions. However, I am running on a Dell laptop so i put it down to this.

you might consider the fact that most cod'ers are actually playing the game rather than hanging around on forums.

well ladies.... as a female myself i have to say that cod uo is far superior to cod2 in many ways. anyone who's played uo and went on to play cod2 will notice immediately the flaws which have plagued it since release...namely the numerous unchecked cheaters.
also have to add my tuppence and say that not ALL women are anti-gaming (just 95% lol)

Apart from the hitboxes being cr@p in CoD2 what can you find better in CoD1? Honestly? The graphics?

    ITs not always about graphics,

    1. Smoke is terrible
    2. No anticheat
    3. Does not like DUal Core CHips
    4. Direct X7 has a better advantage than DIrect X 9 (should not be the case)

just a few of the moans............

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25 Chaosopher

coduo is infinitely more playable both in single and multiplayer
its more fun to play onlin cause there's punkbuster unlike cod2
graphics aren't everything, and besides theyre not that bad. which would u prefer, a game which runs better and looks grand or a game that runs terribly and has top-notch graphics?
personally i would sarcifice a few minor details for some good mp action!!!
    :D

    1. What do you mean "smoke is terrible"?
    2. Granted... That patch really needs to come out!
    3. Did you install the patch (1.01)?
    4. Granted... But again, we knew it would be like that until the patch came out!

Well to me UO has always been a big piece of cr@p so I'm not going to compare it to CoD2. I can however compare CoD1 and CoD2 and the only thing CoD1 has on CoD2 is PB. Once the patch is out (if ever...) CoD1 will have nothing on CoD2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,814 ✭✭✭Drapper

    1. What do you mean "smoke is terrible"? YUP fecks up FPS ect
    2. Granted... That patch really needs to come out! Waiting 4 months +
    3. Did you install the patch (1.01)? Yes no difference (think it help Intel not AMD CPU)
    4. Granted... But again, we knew it would be like that until the patch came out!
    Stil waiting ;-)

I really think it was rushed out with little thought! get the finger out Activision and make us like this game................

i think cod1 and uo are both great games, i just hate cod2.
it was such a let down.
they had an opportunity to out-do themselves and in the end they just made a game which had so much possibility but little or no steps taken to ensure cod2 was near as memorable as its predecessors.
more people may be playing cod2, but i think this is more due to the fact that its a newer game than anything else in particular. also half the people playing cod2 are prolly too young to remember cod1 lol
again, just my two cents' worth.
