X-COM ENEMY UNKNOWN + Elite Soldier DLC + Slingshot DLC for $10 (<€8) from Amazon.com (Steam redeemable).

Also, since no one has mentioned it (maybe everyone has played it by now?), The Walking Dead is €6.24 for the weekend on Steam.

I have both on steam so if I entered the codes for you it should tell me what it is right?

Edit: Forget that it's a stupid idea I don't have all the smaller dlc's so I think it would just add them to my account

I mailed GMG and for anyone buying it, it was the top code for BNW for me. So expect the base pack in steamgifts thread tomorrow when I'm able to make more giveaways :D

Cheapest place for Company of Heroes 2 anyone? Thanks.

Edit: Holy crap... 1.8 on metacritic! Not sure if I want it now...

  • Registered Users Posts: 598 ✭✭✭Tij da feen

That metacritic score is from a score bombing from Russians who claimed the game is offensive to them.

G2play have it for €33 but you might find it cheaper if you shop around a bit.

Here's some helpful advice: don't ever, under any circumstances, pay attention to the Metacritic user score. It is completely subject to extremism, people love giving out 1s and 2s.

The Gone Home metacritic user reviews are particularly miserable. But metacritic user reviews are really one of the most idiotic, ignorant corners of the Internet.

As fine an indicator as any as to why we still need professional critics.

It's an unfortunate reflection on the gaming community at large really. It's pretty much directly comparable to what IMDB is for films and while IMDB might be flawed in it's own way, it's still nowhere near how terrible the Metacritic user score system tends to be. It's not that it's always completely crazy, but even when it seems like a fair enough score there is almost always a reverse bell-curve on the score distribution. It's just used as a platform for fanboys to vent.

The best way (for me atleast) to see if a game is good or not is to watch a few YouTube videos of it. I find the walk-throughs the best, as they player doesn't generally give his opinion on the game itself, rather focuses on playing it.
As much as I hate him, TotalBuscuit is great for a quick idea of a game. His WTF is series is brilliant. It's not a walk-through, but he always makes valid points. He does highlight all the flaws and never really the pros, but it's still good.

Seconded. Works ok for me on Win 7, but I've heard some people have had problems. Also has full co-op campaign. Played it with a mate, really good fun!

Yeah, it's an old one. I guess if you played it when it came out you have a better idea of what to expect. Combat is also quite basic, but it really excels in complexity of its character development system and atmosphere.
