Quad/Knee Exercises

Excuse the lack of proper physio jargon here, but can anyone recommend some simple exercises that will build up the quad muscles that link to the knee caps? I need to strengthen my quads because they're not too powerful and its causing extra hardship to my oh so too tiny kneecaps.

Im hoping that building up my quads will help me avoid another knee op. (The last one turned out to be a problem relating to too much movement in my knee caps, which came from weak thigh muscles).

I imagine that whoever performed the op, or did the post op pyhsio should have advised some excercises?????

How limited is your knee strength/range of motion now????

They handed me a sheet with 4 exercises, no physio.. go do it yourself etc.

Ive full range of motion in the knee that was operated on, its the other one thats causing me trouble now.

Ive been doing the same exercises on that knee but they dont seem to be making a difference.

To be honest, the types of problems you are suffering my be caused by a lack of fluid in the joint, of just the development of the knees themselves.

However, if you are confident doing excercises with them i would suggest lunges, leg extensions and light squats.

I would stay away from the leg press as it can put a lot of pressure on the knee joint.

I would suggest you don't worry about the weight and get the form of each lift down pat before making an increases.
