hey i joined a gym there about weeks ago and have been doin my program set out for me. its like 4 seesions 2 cardio and 2 weights on alternate days.

question is though whats the best cardio machines to use? ide like to use the threadmills but i have a bad foot/heel/ankle and need decent runners before i start using that.

so other options are the cross trainer, step walker( which either i am usin totally wrong or i doesnt do anythin) and bike( i prefer the one u sit up on not the one u sit back a basically sleep on

any ideas? like i was doin 20mins on the cross trainer and goin as fast as i could for the last 10secs of each minute then keepin up a handy speed for the other 50 secs. same applies for bike(20mins). then another 15 on each again.

Bikes and cross trainers appear to have virtually no impact which would mean that your bad foot/ankle would not suffer as a result of using these.

In which case you should probably try all of them.

    Dermot.

Tbh, cardio is cardio, regardless of what machine you use. Some people stick to the same machine all the time, others alternate to prevent mind-numbing boredome-induced comatose type symptoms from running ont eh same strip of rubber for too long :p As long as you get your heart rate going (the whole point of cardio) you can use whatever suits.

Bikes and cross-trainers great for very little impact though.
