just wondering if anyone could give me advice on creatine as in when is the best time to take it. its just depending where you look (or what brand you buy) the instructions differ. or does it really matter as long as you take it? different instructions i've heard include before workout....after workout....and both before and after. i'm fairly confident that it works but i'm hesitant to take manufactorers instructions as gospel as i belive alot of them just want you to use as much as possible!! also what are peoples opinions on loading and cycling? sorry if these questions have been posted previously.

loading is bull**** , cycling is worthwhile, do 8 weeks on and 8 weeks off, if your doing things right your strenght at the end of the 8 weeks off should equal what it was the last day you were on.

Doses, take 5 grams after workout, if your a big boy take 5 beforehand aswell.

I dont know, I loaded for 4 weeks and then normal for 4 weeks, put on a stone and half, although I ate like there was no tommorow, I mean I was eating 14 weetabix out of a baking bowl in the morning along with 6 slices of toast.

And that was just the morning(wont go into what I ate the rest of the day)

Now that I look back at this Maybe It was just the food:confused:

But I put on lean muscle, no fat, Id say the creatine had a big part to play in that!!

Creatine adds considerable water weight while you're on it. Loading speeds up the downregulation of expression of creatine transporters (you have to cycle off it sooner). By limiting myself to 5gms a day, I've been using it daily for the last 4 months and it's still working.

    Edit:

On a personal level i dont think its worth a damn.I was taking it twice a day for three months with very little in the way of results to justify the expense.I did however find it was giving me stomach problems and constant thirst.Thats just my opinion, not everybody is the same.

Maybe you are just one of the lucky few who can produce enough creatine without supplementation??? Ya jammy git.

A lot of people do have stomach issues from it though, even it is is micronised. Try Kre Alkylyn instead.

Nah , whoever said that was desperately trying to make himself feel better about something.

:p it was more the mis-spelling of wtf and linking steroids and supps' to 'getting fit' that had me chuckling...

supplements i.e creatine , whey powder are *very* different to steroids.

no problems with dysfunction either, i think dragan summed that one up nicely!!

I have used creatine for a few years and certainly do find it effective, however only if: you're eating right already, you train consistently, smart and of course train hard!!

Spot on. You need to be doing everything before you can gain anything.
