    Hi folks,

I thought it would be useful if we had a specific thread that gave a breakdown of the different ways sets can be performed. e.g drop sets, pyramid up, pyramid down, negative reps/set...

theres so many different types of them and some with similar names it can be bewildering.

Im sure some of you will be able to descibe some of the more common and useful sets.

(perhaps if the mods think this useful we could make this a sticky?maybe we could keep the questions to a minimum if it is to be a sticky too)

    Thanks for all help/interest. :-)

Could someone offer some advice as im a complete novice and am just starting to do weights training.

What i want to do is to not increase my size at all (im already big enough in my opinion) im only looking to gain definition and try to obtain a trim, toned body.

From what i have been told so far its better to use light weights and do about 15-20 reps and with 3 sets. Is this a good plan? How do i know what is the idea weight to use? And so on....

    Any feedback greatley appreciated

This thread is meant to be a general one so that we can all read about the theme of 'Sets'. If you start off a new thread you will definatly get help.Best of luck ;)
