    Hi,

I've started back into the gym a few weeks, main aim is to get body fat down, increase strength, add a small bit of muscle and eventually get toned.
I would like to have 2 logs for monitoring progression, a daily one for nutrition and another log for each time I workout.

Are there any such free templates like this available online that I could download. I'm just looking for something very simple, spreadsheet ideally.

I tried to create one last night, little more diffifult than I thought. I've no idea what level of detail I should be logging for food- kcal, protein, carbs and fat enough? Plus the main problem I would have is genearting reports to show how I am doing from data I've entered, not very familiar with the workings of spreadsheets.

You could always try a free site like www.fitday.com which allows you to log all foods eaten and you excercise.

It's will give you detailed calorie reports (consumed vs burned etc) and the nutritional breakdown i.e. Carbs/Prot/Fats

I know the folk on here say there's a better site for this but I found fiyday was exactly what I needed.

    Good luck

    Thanks ErinGoBrath,
I'll give it a look. Have you tried the PC software for it?

It's not free but I use www.fitnessjournal.org. It's pretty new and the guy who runs it is very responsive to queries. The layout is excellent and it allows you to record food intake, stats, workouts, heart health, events, goals etc etc along with a host of other facilities like discussioon boards, shoe tracker, writing journal, graphic views of workouts/weight loss and so on. You can join for 30 days up to three years and I think the small output of expense is worth the detail and ease of use of this. Also all your records are stored on that site so you won't lose them if your PC crashes and you can input into the system anywhere in the world. Have a look.

On my pocket PC I use mysporttraining which is a good mobile solution.
