Will i got to gowran today after being stuck in thomastown for 15 mins!!
Note to truckers you are supposed to go on the kilkenny road  .

a huge crowd today meant for a very packed betting arena:o .
having had only one winner at tramore on the 1st january, and leopordstown on the 28th,how many winners today ??????
    Yes 1:rolleyes:
But it was paul carberry on No Sound a last minute tip got him at ten to one with the bookies of course he went off at twelve to one!!!!!!
And if i went to the tote it would have being double so be it.
A 110 euro win is a jackpot for me on a horse :)
To leave a profit of 40 euro for the day.
    So thats good then :D

I took the day off college and went. The traffic in and out of gowran and kilkenny was terrible, the races where crowded and i found it hard to move around. In the end i came out with 2 winners Sher Beau and Dun doire.Came out winning bout 65.

Decies, Funny that you mention only getting No Sound at 10/1 and it going off a 12/1, I have noticed that on my last few visits to race meetings that the prices of the on course bookies are less for nearly every horse than the returned SP. I don't know if it is the usual case of trying to rip punters off or if there is a problem with the system of SP's, I suspect the former.

The last time I went racing was at Leopardstown over Christmas and had printed off the morning prices for the racing and brought them with me, nearly every horse was shorter on course. I had backed Black Apalachi in the morning at 25/1, yet on course nearly all of the bookies were only going 16/1 and yet his SP ended up being 25/1.

My uncle backed no sound on the tote and it paid 23 euros and something.
