Well I put a bit of time in trying to find the funniest airplane crash pics I would find.
Ingredients needed to qualify for an entry on the list:
lotsa speed, lotsa spectators, lotsa €€€€€ and LOTSA teeny weeny little pieces!!!!! And right in front of the camera ...... Great work behind the lens too.

Kangaroo with turbine crash right in front of crowd pilot error 100% (22mb)
senior modellers trying to maiden fly B-24 without checking for reversed aileron controls....big mistake not pre flight checking such a plane I once did the reverse aileron takeoff myself, but in a much smaller model of course. Everyone does something really silly once in modelling....

Well yes - it's a shame. But we expect it.
The airframe is a consumable....like fuel. It just takes a year or two to consume it by bashing, crashing, or incremental repairs that fill it with glue, making it heavy and not so nice as before.
The "innards" move from model to model as we use our airframes up, so to speak. So it's sad, of course, when one model's life ends, but definitely not a tragedy, cos that's when we get the chance to move the gear into something bigger, faster, better, or sexier. 0 -
