Is 4 lbs. weight loss per week too much?

Not asking interms of motivation etc., but rather in terms of general health. Also on a long term basis, e.g. say a person needs to lose 104 lbs. and aims to do it over 6 months (26 weeks) @ 4 lbs per week, is this too much in terms of being detrimental to general health?

    many thanks,

It would be rough on your health as it would be quite the calorie deficit. Plus, it will be very hard to keep up 4 lbs a week after 4 or 5 weeks. Aim for about 2 a week, take a multivitamin and you'll be alright.
