Poor Guy, what a terrible shame, in a situation like that you feel so helpless, in that case it was unique in a way, as the people who really cared about him were out of his reach in the real world, sigh... So depressing :(

The topic of suicide is entirely debatable, but someone is dead now, and people are greiving, and you should respect that regardless of your own personal views.

In my opinion, it's your life, should you choose to take it that's your choice. Again, debatable, and another topic, I think if people wanna discuss it it's best to start a new thread.

RIP, hope you find your quiet.

Listen, I'm more than willing to debate the finer points of suicide with you, just have a bit of respect and shut up in this thread.

I am more than aware that someone dies every second of everyday, I don't neeed assholes like you tell me.

Now I was polite before, but take a hint. Shut up, or start a proper discussion rather than being plain rude and ignorant.

I had a friend hang himself when we were only 14. It was horrible. I can only imagine what his family are going through. So many unanswered questions. Very sad indeed. As someone said here recently, it's a permanent solution to a temporary problem. May he RIP.

My friend committed suicide....I was the last person to talk to them.....it's such a waste of life....my friend thought her problems were insurmountable but after her death the things that upset her so much (family issues, etc) were all resolved - as you say jerryadams, a permanent solution to a temporary problem....so sad.....my thought go to his family & friends :(

The guy who owned the site posted about it here.
    http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1777029

Their government shut their site down because apparently he did it over live webcam.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for suicide victims.

He topped himself knowing people would be talking about about it and he tried to get as much attention for it as possible.

Do you still feel sorry for him? I don't think I do..

    Woops!
It seems he didn't kill himself over webcam, but thats what all the online news sites are reporting anyway..

Yeah you have to ask; was that a cry for help? or a some morbid last grasp at attaining infamy?
I mean if you really want somebody to stop you, you don't go posting on a type of forum reknowned for trolls, pranks and dramatists..

Mankind is not always able to rely on lucid reasoning, peoples actions can be governed by the irrational, when people have very significant problems they can become weakened, if these problems grow/persist they can eventually be crushed by them.

Count yourself lucky that you have not had your spirit broken to this extent. You are still but a boy, once theres 7up in the fridge and crisps and chocolate in the cupboard you are happy.

    - Clearly you are also happy to proudly parade your astounding arrogance/ignorance on a national message board.

    15 minutes?

2 and half seconds of fame.

and i would doubt he did it for that. probably just a sad lonely young man looking for help.
i mean, if youre going to commit suicide, you generally do it. if you broadcast it around, youre generally looking for help.

not that i have ever committed suicide.

besides, he probably heard that the bulgarians put antifreeze in wine and figured it would be ok :)

I can understand that many people would be aggrieved, hurt and even angry at those who commit suicide because they leave behind so many unanswered questions and do not allow those remaining to go through the regular stages of bereavement because they feel that it was an unnecessary act of selfishness.

I am not condoning suicide victims in anyway, but they are not in the right state of mind to make rational decisions about anything, least of all about the consequences of their actions.

Perhaps if you took a moment to think why people may even contemplate taking their own life and you would maybe reconsider your view.

If you thought that nothing in your life was worth living for, if nothing could ever be done to improve that situation, if nothing anyone ever did could ever remove that heavy weight that rested in you throughout the daytime, nightime, morning time, when you woke, when you turned in bed, when you ate, when you laughed at a comedy, when you walked hands in hands with your partner, when you went out for a night with your best mates.

But most significantly, when you thought that no one else really noticed you enough to genuinely care for you, no one, not even those closest to you.

Those who take their lives do so in complete loneliness; they do not think that their absence would ever make an impact. And I think that's what hurts those left behind considerably, to think the one they loved didn't know that they were loved.

The reason suicide victims choose to end their lives is not to hurt people, it's because they suffer so much in terms of mental illness that they cannot think rationally about any other way of overcoming their burdens. They are not 'pathetic failures' and to condemn them as such is just another way of adding to the sucidal pandemic that is scourging the Irish, and global, population at the moment. By saying that you are adding to the taboo against mental illnesses, against those who have committed suicide and therefore augmenting the problems of those who are borderline suicidal.

By casting them as 'pathetic failures' you are stoning them and ridiculing them, perhaps preventing them from getting much-needed assistance. Not only do they now have to face the fact that they already think that they are insignificant, but this confirms it to them that they are indeed, 'pathetic failures.'

Please do not make such sweeping statements as the one you have just made.

Perhaps you know of a person who unfortunately decided that they had no other choice but to end their own life. Perhaps you don't. Either way, the statistics reveal that many people have been affected by the death of someone they know through suicide.

I myself know of four people, one of whom was particularly close to me. I would never have judged their lives up to the time of their deaths as having been the sort that were lead by 'pathetic failures.' They were not 'losers,' they lived what appeared to be noraml lives on the outside but clearly not on the inside.

You do not know what is ever circulating within someone's mind, you do not know how their emotions are reacting, you do not know how weak their coping mechanisms are. Do not judge them by your own personal abilities in these areas. Do not judge them as 'losers' who are the 'most pathetic failures on earth.'

They do not see it as a choice, they see it as a necessity, because people like you have ensured that they never come forward to ask for help.

As for the individual mentioned in this thread, it is another sad loss that could have been potentially prevented.

    -Lady

Well I have attempted suicide a couple of times and it was over something that I would have gotten over if I was a normal person. Sometimes I can't hnadle any negative emotion at all and the only way to stop feeling really bad is to self harm. But on those two occasions I felt that I would never survive what was happening to me so I made a plan to end my life. First time I booked into a hotel and took an overdose. I had told someone what I was about to do but they didn't take me seriously.

I was found because when I fell asleep I rolled of the bed and made such a thud that the room below complained. I had probably been making loads of noise before that but I cant rem. The second time I did it was a couple of weeks after this one and I had told someone what I was doing but they ignored it again. Im not sure how I was found that time as everyone was away but i think my cousin had a key to check up on me.

Some people may see this as attention seeking behaviour but that was the last thing I wanted really. I did want to hurt people like they hurt me though but I suppose I only ended hurting those that hadn't done anything to me. These days I tend to avoid getting too close to people and it seems to work.

Maybe reading my account might give people a better understanding of suicide thats if they want to understand it. I often think the people who call people who take their lives selfish or cowards are probably the people who suffer with their demons the most.

JHC.....I dont care if I get banned for this - itll be worth it.

Ill give breaks that you are young and so your incredible arrogance and stupidity are coming from the fact that you havent seen enough of the big world yet to appreciate and have a spec of pity for another human being. That - and your next post - are the two most trolling and ****ed up things I have ever read on this forum. I was going to desend into a bit of personal abuse here but I cant be bothered wasting my time.
If you arent young - then shame on you. You dont deserve to have people love you because you obviously are not capable of appreciating any feeling other than some ****ed up pedestel built upon another persons desperation - and the result of that desperation and if thats what it takes to make you feel good then go ahead - Knock yourself out buddy. Youre a cnut.
