    i'm a 17 year old lad who used to play a lot of competetive sports until last year, now my weights gone up, i weigh 13 stone and it's all in my belly!! I just joined a well equipped gym and am thinking of going 2/3 times a week, any good workout plans?

    Well what do you want from your workout plan?

    From your post I'm guessing it's your belly. First of all you can't spot reduce. Sorry, it's not going to happen. Having said that, if your stomach muscles are more taut it is will seem as if you are less heavy than you are.

    You can achieve quite good results with 3 hours gymwork a week but you need to make sure you don't negate those results when you're out of the gym.

    If your goal is to decrease the size of your belly and presuming you only have 1hr in the gym at a time I'd suggest a split of 20 mins weights/ 40 mins cardio.

    For the weights you need to do compounds and learn form before adding weight. Don't care what anyone thinks, they've all been there.

    For cardio, I have found cycle/walk/jog/run effective. I started by cycling and moved up through the others as time went by and have been happy with the results. I'm sure it goes without saying but it helps to be active in your day to day life as well.

    Thanks very much for that advice! Wht kind of weights do you think i should be doing? And is diet very important because i love my food
