Hey all, just gauging some opinions from those who know about the NCEF course up in DCU? is the course worthwhile to do parttime? even just to have the cert for it? I know a fair amount about fitness and nutrition etc but it would just be nice to have a cert for it. Ive heard its a decent enough course...anyone else do it?
    thanks:)

Have hired lots of people over the years who came from this course and all i can say is it will give you a baseline to work from with lots more to do.

Unfortunately the irish fitness industry accepts its low standards however like in every industry you must continue educating and walk the talk which soooo many do not do!!

    Walk the talk?

I know what you mean. When you see overweight gym instructors you really wonder about the management.

    Hi Transform,
thanks for your reply. I sort of knew it was only a baseline, most of it is probably the same information anyone at all interested in fitness knows but if it helps me to get into the industry then its worth a try, even though its a bit pricey..1800! ouch.after all i would hope to go alot futher either here of abroad and continue to learn. at least i know now that it is of some use, thanks:)

hi transform, just a quick question on the topic of gym instructor qualifications: the ITEC distance learning course is that of any real value

No value - look into the ACE (American Council of Exercise) if you are considering distance learning. Its world recognised

No course is any substitute to walking the talk though
