Diet Routine question

Ok i'm 22, i'm 6'0 and weigh 15 1/2 stone. Once weighed 16 stone but got it down to 12 1/2 stone before i had to have surgery on my knee and i went back upto 15 1/2 since. When i decided to lose weight the last time i completely changed way i eat, kinda had a routine where i drank plenty of water, ate only one meal a day, a healthy meal at that and couple of light snacks such as a banana or an apple in a day, maybe 3 snacks altogether. I surprised myself by sticking to it for a good while before i had to have the surgery. Completely cut out the nasties such as chips, white bread, fizzy drinks, alcohol, biscuits etc. I done cardio for about 20 minutes each day, reasonably intense cardio.

Ive read that 4 or 5 small meals during a day makes it easier not to be hungry but i dont tend to feel hungry a lot, so i can eat one reasonable size meal and not feel too hungry for rest of the day just taking pieces of fruit etc.

I'm gonna start that same routine again as it really worked last time, but is there something else i should be doing or is this a wrong way about going about it ? Had no effects of eating this way last time except shedding 3 stone.

    Any recommendations ?

if it works for you then by all means do it again.
you might have been eating too little if you lost 3 stone very quickly, you could have lost a fair bit of muscle.
several smaller meals are better than 2/3 large ones as they keep your metabolism high.
i would recomend incorporating some weight training into your routine to increase metabolism, increase lean muscle mass, improved bone density(less chance of arthritis), increase natural testosterone(i assume your male?), improved body shape and reduced body fat and many other health benefits.if you do start weight training you will be more hungry!
