Did anybody do the Patrick Holford 100% Health workshop/weekend? It took place yesterday and today, as well as a few months back here in Dublin.

If so what are your opinions or what do you think about Patrick Holford in general? I’m just curious what different people think about his work…?

I’m just back from the workshop and though it interesting, didn’t learn to much new about nutrition, diet, what to eat or not to eat and how to eat.

Definitely gave me a motivational boost to actually apply more what he taught and what most people interested in nutrition, diet know but not to many actually apply.

Yes, there was one new thing I learned, “PSYCHOCALISTENICS”, a 20-25min exercise routine that combines, some exercises that are similar to yoga, a bit Pilates and a focused way of breathing like in some martial arts, meditation, relaxation techniques.

You don’t need any equipment, it’s a combination of relative fast movements,
which definitely brings your heart rate up and energises you. It’s based around
4-5 bigger cavities of the body.

how much did this seminar cost??
the guy holfords organisation ION seems to recomend vegetarian diet, his nutritional advice seems good but is freely available so i dont know why someone would pay for it.
the Psychocalisthenics seems to be like karate training mixed with meditation and if thats what you want fine but it wont help you loose much weight or gain muscle so it really depends on what you want.

Gone to his seminars in the past and have enjoyed them. He is bang on in most of his info though i do not agree with his stance on suppoorting the intake of soy products as they can increse estrogen levels too high when taken in high quantities. His books are great and totally recommended for anyone starting out.

Here is the problem and the problem for ALL health and weight loss seminars e.g. Jason Vale, Gillian McKeith, etc

THEY ALL ATTRACT THOSE WHO WANT A QUICK FIX!!!!!!!

The last one i went to (i sometimes question why i go, however if you learn one new thing i think its worth it) was PACKED with 88's (all you bingo lovers will know what i mean) all over the place asking questions that gave me the impression that if they were told to sawdust every day they would do that instead of cutting down on junk food and exercising more!!

These are the self same people who will go for a walk and then return to Mary's house for coffee and scones, chat about how too skinny their neighbour is who goes to the gym, wants to try out pilates because it is supposed to be gentle and moans about how their little Johnny is a terror and will not eat anything other than junk food, pasta, chips and pizza!

So is he any good? Yes!!!

Will he, I or any other respected teacher out there change you? Well, thats up to you and what you fill you mind full of every morning when you pick up or discard the toxic mental junk from yesterday.

Me thought that recent reasearch had actually shown this to be false?

    Transform,
Your point with attracting “THOSE WHO WANT A QUICK FIX!!!!!!!” is a good one.

Yes, there were a lot of these kind of people, overweight participants
who look for the QUICK FIX, besides some people who are involved in the
    fitness & health industry.

Is this not an issue we face in a lot of western societies nowadays,
people look for instant, quick gratification and not to many people can accept
that some changes need time, persistence.

IT’S ABOUT A PERMANENT LIFESTYLE CHANGE AND NOT AS YOU SAY A QUICK FIX.
