IRA Medals in War of Independence

Does anybody know if people who fought in the war of independence received medals for their participation? Or were any medals presented? Or were medals given to just people who carried out some act of bravery?

my grandad and his brothers were all in the ira around 1915 and onwards.i know one got a medal for ambushing a bunch of black and tans before they attacked his town in donegal and killed them.not sure which medal he got for it though

have 3 medals @ home

2 for my Grandmother and 1 for my Grandfather

Actually been looking info on what they were awarded for
