whinge, whinge, whinge. Back at work today, feels like the first day back at school after a long hot summer(except I'm back at work after a short cold wintery break.). How many people are back at work, and how many people felt like there was a magic spell holding them onto the bed this morning......

Yeah, **** to be back. Couldn't get up this morning, probably due to the fact i was still on 'holiday' bedtime last night...

better go around and say hi to everyone.

I was suprised how quiet the roads where this morning... Are lots of people on extended holidays or something?? Lucky bast*rds :o

I unfortunately am not one of those people... I literally had tears in my eyes pulling up outside the office this morning... Sooo depressing, but I know once I get today out of the way I wont be long getting back into the swing of things...

The office is also as cold as the grave so Im sitting here in my coat... which is quite depressing.. Brrrrrrr

I'm happy enough to be back. There's only so much time you can do nothing.

Too many idiots who seem to have a 10-day memory for passwords though

I'm also back... It's wouldn't be so bad if I was in full health. But I have the flu, so should really be off sick. Meh, I've got tomorrow off and may be sick on Thursday.

I was depressed earlier (:( )so I allowed myself to be an hour late and then I was mildly happy (:o) then I actually got into work and sat at my desk and then went all depressed again (:( ) then my boss rang to say he wouldn't be in today or tomorrow so I swang back to mildly content (:o) then he landed me with all his work AND a tighter deadline than previously expected so now I'm just pissed off ()

It's just a see saw of emotions this morning really :v:

    From today's Independent:
Welcome to the most dreaded day of the year

TODAY is the most dreaded day of the year for Irish workers.

January 3 was picked by 85pc of people surveyed to be the most depressing day of the working year.

It ranked even worse than the first working day after the June bank holiday weekend.

Half of those surveyed believed January 3 induced so much trepidation that it should be declared a national bank holiday or an American style 'duvet day' during which we can legally remain in bed for the day's duration only emerging to eat and drink.

The report, conducted by the smoothie drink company Froosh, found 31pc cited having to get up early was the reason they found the day so miserable.

Only 9pc believed traffic was the worst aspect of the day.

Dean Taylor, co-founder of the Swedish drink, said: "During holidays we all tend to slow the pace down so the first day back to work is always difficult.

"The festive period combined with our tendency to over indulge, will mean that many of us may need an extra kick-start to help us get back into the swing of things."

The survey also investigated people's attitudes to New Year's resolutions, and found almost half wanted to have a better work/life balance.

Over a third pledged to eat and drink more healthily, while a sixth wished they could give up smoking.

Lack of willpower and not being able to find the time were the reasons given for not sticking with such resolutions.

Irish people also confessed to feeling more guilty about eating unhealthy food and taking sick days.

    Helen Bruce

    Not working today luckily.

...'duvet day' during which we can legally remain in bed for the day's duration only emerging to eat and drink.

I like the sound of that... i think it should be enforced more thoroughly though and nobody should be legally allowed leave bed

One good thing is that now all of you go back to work, my job becomes easier:D

Still like to get a nice 9-5 job, tho.

I was back at work on the 27th having done almost 3 weeks without a day off in the lead up to Christmas. I slept all Christmas Eve and most of Christmas day I was so tired but I welcomed a two day break.

Was feeling all "poor me" working on the 27th when I had a customer into the shop getting some photo reprints of her baby (just over a year old) who had died just a few weeks ago. Her Christmas must have been the worst imaginable. It put paid to my "poor me" feelings rather quickly.

Lol. Then everyone would say that January 4th is the worst day of the year because you have to get up early

Suck it up you whingers. If you can't stand going into work after a ridiculous amount of rest, you need a new job.
