Bench press vs Dumbell press

    Can anyone in the know shed light on what the advantages/disadvantages would be for these 2 exercises and the differences in results? Thanks guys.

    Db press is generally harder as it works more of your stabiliser muscles, which in turn will give a more defined look. I generally mix the two up by doing bench for three weeks then two weeks of db press

    Yeah, you can lift more weight on the bench, as it takes less balance and stabilizers muscles as mentioned by emmet.

    Many people feel that the dumbell press is a better lift than the bench, as it allows for more natural movement and range of motion, and a better stretch at the end.

    Obviously both have there place in any workout plan as neither could really be clearly better than the other.
