Can anyone tell me the difference between a Smoothie Maker, a Pulper, a Juicer and a Food Blender. Okay, so with a Juicer you just get the Juice. Okay, so with a Juicer you just get the Juice.

The Pulper I'd imagine creates a thick pulpy substance from the food.

What about the Food Blender and the Smoothie Maker though - surely with Milk added, a Food Blender can be a Smoothie Maker ?

Am i wrong ?

there really isnt any... a food blender can have many functions:
blending food
making smoothies
juicing
cant really pulp....

A smoothie maker is a blender jug with a little tap at the bottom to let you fill your smoothie glasses without having to upend the jug.

...it falls under my list of "things you never knew you needed".

Yeah I thought as much.

Just the tap makes the difference.

I tried to make a smoothie with a Food Blender that we have here already and turned out chunky and all. It was minging. Maybe its just cos it is 20 years old. Maybe Smoothie makers have a different kind of blade on them ?

A blender won't juice.
If you're using a large food mixer type blender it won't be any good for smoothies (the big bowl is too big).
I wouldn't bother with a smoothie maker, just get a heavy upright blender (like the ones you see in bars) then you can blend, make smoothies, and crush ice in them too.

A blender wont juice - but a smoothie maker will ?

It seems that blenders do the same thing as smoothie makers for half the price.

Argos have a Morphy Richards blender for 50euro and a Morphy Richards smoothie maker for 85euro. Does the ice crush function make the difference ? Plus the blender has 700watt motor to the sm maker 575 watt.
