I've recently discovered that I simply cannot escape CTYI... You guys are everywhere!

So anyway here's wishing all a happy tree day! Enjoy a tree. Put gifts under it and on it. Eat a big meal in honour of it. Discuss the importance of trees and view their majesty.

And please, enjoy trees responsibly. We don't want any nightmare stories this winter.

Just out of curiosity, in what sense did he get stoned?
It might seem like a stupid question but in religion class I once found stuff about a saint who could fly so you never know.

St. Kevin had the powers of defeating man-eating monsters, living to 120 and being from Wicklow. A blackbird also laid an egg in his hand and St. Kev minded it until it hatched.

    Dear Sven,
    Have my babies.
    I mean, trees!
    I mean, tree babies?
    Love,

Plus some annoying woman went into his tree and started claning it. So he pushed her into a lake where she drowned.

Svensday is the 5th December. My namesday is the 3rd September. If anyone wants to know their namesday you can ask me if you want, however if there isn't a Swedish equivalent of your name then I won't have a clue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 448 ✭✭Jack Lynch

Is there a Swedish equivalent to Kevin?

It's Alva, funnily enough. Far less complicated to spell! So yeah every 3rd September you should demand a namesday cake, and some token presents [AILBHE: "Noble, bright." Variants include Alva, Alvy, Elva, Elvy]
I don't know if there's a Swedish equivalent to Kevin... I'll have a skim and see if I can see anything similar

I severely doubt there's an equivalent to Aonghus anyway.....stupid irish name...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,440 ✭✭✭✭Piste

    How about Elizabeth?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

ELISABET: Swedish form of Elizabeth (devoted to God) November 19th

That's what he told me, then he took my money to run on a 'surefire' horse, and after that, I never saw him again.
