Your never really going to be able to add mass to your wrist, there is not muscle there to make grow. Sure, you can strenghten your wrist but that's about it. Personnally, i can only assume if you have skinny wrists, the rest of your joints are pretty skinny. I would suggest you add mass to the forearm, from wrist to elbow, your skinny wrists will then work to your advantage, giving the illusion of great mass.

If you go to the gym, try hammer curls, and reverse dumbell curls and reverse cable preacher curls.

If you don't go to the gym, try some crushing excercises and they should help. www.ironmind.com for idea's

To strengthen your wrist, try a Powerball (www.powerballs.com)
It's a hand held gyroscope, which will help strengtghen your wrist and forearm.
As Dragan said, there's only skin and tendons around your wrist so now muscle to bulk up !

I swear by the Powerball! But you'd do well to add some grip strengthening exercises, coz it is a difficult beast to control at the higher speeds.

Within the grip strengthening context, I've added underhand finger curls to the tail end of my upper body workout, and I've been using the standard V-shaped spring grips too. I've tried finding local stockists for the GripMaster but haven't found anywhere outside the States.

I know a lot of MMA guys, and one or two committed Greco-Roman wrestlers who actually swear by the powerball for increasing gripping strenght.

It seems to be a good product, once again thought, i don't really see anything actually adding size to the wrist itself, only the forearm.

I find the powerball to be very good too and got it cheaper from Play.com the only drawback is that you need a UK address which I got away with as I used my mates addy.

Another good thing to do is when you carrying wheels around the gym, grab them plates two at a time and squeeze then between your fingers. I can do carry three 20kilo plates this way now, and am working on 2 20's in each hand. Hurts like a bugger but it works!!!

I ordered from here - Rory McLoughney's, and they despatch from Thurles, Co. Tipp. It cost about EUR35 incl. priority postage.

as dragan says. anatomically you are kinda stuck. BUT there is loads you can do outside of little dumbell wrist extensions and all that bodybuilding NONSENSE. my advice is blocklaying, strongman training, powerlifting olympic lifting esp. overhead squats and general strongman type grip expert training. they can actually thicken up the wrists significantly even down toward the hand. gym work generally might hit your forearms but unless its heavy overhead olympic lifts like overhead squats forget it it wont thicken the wrists..check out pullumsports.com they sell some great gadgets for grip etc. damn all the other puny stuff it makes no difference trust me. telegraph keys etc, sledgehammer work

just look at most blocklayers, even carpenters, mechanics.

my oul fella is a great example. woodworker. always had big wrists/muscle/thick but anatomically bone structure is not that huge big wrists certainly don't run in my family... he never goes to the gym.

fact is biomechanically lifting awkward objects hits the wrists hard as does supporting heavy loads on them. they thicken up fairly quickly or they ...

look up herman goener(spelling) he was the king of grip/strongman in the beginning of this century and he was not born with big mitts or anything, train like him and you'll have bigger wrists.

think of the anatomy especially. what muscles are down there toward the hand?? pronators supinators etc. now chew on this...many muscles dont just do their main function! they can act as support muscles for heavy loads etc. GREAT example is these wrist muscles. they will hypertrophy fairly quick during months of overhead squatting when this exercise has no twisting components. another example is a trainee beginning on using dumbells after coming off barbell benchpress. one will usually notice a thickening of his forearms after a few months even though no (small very partial movements in actual fact) extension or flexion is clear in the reps.

My favourite grip exercise is the thick bar deadlift. I use a normal barbell with a length of heavy pipe slipped over it to thicken it. Deadlifting with this puts a big strain on the grip. The grip will give out at a relatively light weight eg I can DL 150 pounds less this way compared to a normal bar.

For some extra masochism, do thick bar deads with one hand :)

yes i forgot to mention those. fat bars for many lifts and one arm deadlift need major stabilisation for wrist same goes for BARBELL one handed curls for example.
