The Great Coca Cola debate!

As long as Ive remembered Ive always been convinced that coca cola tastes much better from a cold can that from the 500ml bottle. I can drink it from a 2lt bottle from the fridge or from a can but not from the 500ml it tastes awful. If I order a chinese for example Ive gotta get a nice cold can of coke to go with it. I always just though I was a bit odd but recently a couple of people argeed with me! so - am I mad or do I have a point? Which do you prefer?

Agree that the cans of coke are so much nicer than the 500ml mainly because they're oh so much colder!

But then again.. after hearing about numerous people being ill from the whole rats urine being evident on cans stored in a basement, i will rarely drink it straight from the can... paranoid, i know!

It's nicer from a can, but if you get it in McDonalds or anywhere like that, it's made from syrup and tastes awful! If not for Subway's free refills policy, I'd never drink it

Coke from a can does taste different to coke from a bottle, its to do with the plastic of the bottle I think i've been told that before (probably read it somewhere on boards).

Definatly can for me its way nicer, btw I hate pepsi tastes so cheap.

I also have to say coke in the glass bottles in pubs is equally as nice as a can.

Killer flashback there! I remember going there for my school tour. I remember feeling it was akin to getting into Willy Wonkas chocolate factory or something. Plus I answered the first Q from yer man so I got to be the guy 'giving out the cans' which in retrospect was just being given the job of gopher but to the class at the time was a role that commanded both respect and jealousy. Anyway you should have put in an option for the oldstyle glass bottles that they still serve in pubs. Better than both cans or plastic.

On topic, yeah I never even buy 500ml plastics; it's always a 2 lt or one of those handy 1.25l bottles or nothing...single servings are a complete rip off.

Yeah glass bottle is best, but cans before the plastic. Cant beat a nice can with the little droplets on it from being so cold, the noise of it cracking open and lashing it down, I cant stand coke if it is not absolutely fizzy so would never pour it in a glass.
The big litre glass bottle you get abroad are great.

All this coke zero, 7-up zero and pepsi max are just "cool" words so lads will not be embarassed buying them, remember hard men don't diet, thats for women & ponces :rolleyes:

I'll go with can.

Although when I was a kid I got a can of pepsi and it didn't have the coating on the inside of the can so the whole drink tasted like aluminum... I couldn't get rid of that taste out of my mouth for about a week.

I don't trust diet-anything....sugar is portrayed as this big evil poison when in fact the chemical sh*te they replace it with (albeit in very msall amounts) have shown in some studies to be poisonous and possibly cancer causing in larger doses and in loger term exposure....even if I needed to loose weight I wouldn't be doing it by drinking diet soft drinks....the only people that maybe should be drinking them are diabetics...

they use phenylanine its a chemical and it turns into formaldihide in your body. also aspartame etc sugar is naturall to your body these chemicals are not

ah dont worry kernel im not half as bad as you guys think. a few years ago i used to drink 5 cans of coke a day but now i drink at least 6 cups green tea and water a day and im only allowed coke at the weekends im being good!!! ;-)

and carbon dioxide makes it fizzy and carmel coloring makes it brown
