Servers you play on

Anyway just wondering what servers you all play on ?

I have logged on the TiG servers a few times and they were empty, is there a set time to play ? or what would be the best time to join, just for a bit of fun.

Would be good to have maybe a Boards BF 2 night just for kicks ..

I seem to spend most of my time on the EA UK Official servers 17 + 18, for no reason other than good ping and not so many Muppets

USed be tig when you were almost guranteed a full server every night. Now i just pick random servers, altho i hit the EA france offical and diesel power servers alot.

use tig when there is enough players on it, ea uk servers, and 1 from a clan called merc mainly

TiG fills up in the evenings, also the 16 player TiG is great for skilled players.
No chopper/plane whoring there. Just usually infantry and some small vehicles.
Much more skillful that way.

I usually try and play on the GFF server if there's enough in it for a game, I wouldn't mind the 16 player TIG as it suits my style of play right down to the ground

I would fully reccoment the CTF mod for BF2. Its a lot of fun and is all infantry based close combat. Really exciting stuff. We are one of the few people with a server up and running for it, and we also offer several mirrors for the mod. Check out the links on; http://www.theirishguard.com/index.php

Mainly play PTG city levels, Freddy's house #1 and
a few others.

Dont play on TIG anymore due to the ping kick thing
and the GFF server is a bit small.

The PTG server is pretty tough IMO with some of the
top players on that server. I rarely manage to get
3rd in there.

i'll be doing that CTF thing tonight (if my ping spikes are fixed) as I love the action of BF2 but not the flying I just plain suck at it and the others just make mince meat of me so I think I could really enjoy this. When patch 1.2 is released I wont have to worry about bunny hopping either,

On GFF last night and a guy dolphin jumped when i attacked him he killed me and boy was I mad!

CTF is running on the 20 man server I think - 82.195.136.136:16568. I had to get rid of the mod last night as I was getting "moddified content errors" with BF2 - this has happened with every mod for this game that i've tried

Yeah i get that the whole time.... The message that i have been
kicked due to excessive teamkilling........After about 10 attempts
I usually get in.

Server crashes a bit often though.

I also love the 24 man as generally there isn't much air pounding in maps for 24 people, is there an ip address for the 24 man server

Lately Ive been playing on vets server.Its in the uk my ping is around the 40 mark and its nearly allways full.Have played on t.i.g. but not of late.Usually I just find random servers,with city maps.

Dolphin jumping is when a player jumps and then goes prone in the air making him a very small target all the while said player can shoot back at opposing player. Some servers allow it some don't. I'm also only playing like a week. Do you prefer vehicles or on foot

I prefer being on foot, when in a vechcle you are an easier target to spot than a man walking. When ever I get in a tank or jeep I dont last too long. I cant hit a thing in a plane and choppers are so hard to get in. Ive played about 20 hours and yesterday I finally got a go of an AH66.

I have seen this dolphin jumping but I thought it was called bunny hopping.

I got kicked of a server for attacking a main base but the other team had no other bases. What is one to to, just sit there? But then that is another topic me thinks.

I think bunny hopping is just jumping when under fire and returning fire in the air while dolphin jumping employs the prone exploit.

I also way prefer to be on foot but I find it frustrating when a plane or copter just make bits of me after a 5 minute spell without even seeing an enemy.

With regards getting kicked for attacking the main base, some ppl use strange rules on there servers and it can be even worse when they are in a different language. I would have done the exact same as you I'd say

YEah my brother even got called a spawn raper cause he killed a guy that spawned in front of him while he was capping the flag, what was he to do walk 10 pases turn and fire?

Yeah ive seen a lof of both bunny hopping and dolphin diving. its OK in quake. But not in BF2. But kicking guys for it is bit extreme.

I dont know off the top of my head I hace it in my favroites but im not on my PC right now. Ya can goto www.gunsforfun.com and get the IP from there though.

I would only consider spawn raping if it were a plane/heli/artillery just continually bombarding a spawn point, I don't mind tanks or guys on foot being there when i spawn as then i might kill a few of em before I go.

I agree with the kicking of bunny hoppers if no one else on the server is doing it, there have been many time where I could have done it to my advantage and just not, i think it is terrible to look at and kind of cheapens the whole experience for me, i'm glad they're fixing it
