Right, I'm new to this, and would be grateful of some advice from those in the know!

I am generally a very active person and up till recently have lived somewhere where my life has generally been- well- active. You know, the normal stuff I'd get up to with friends etc has been physically tiring- watersports, walking for example. I've recently moved to a different area and this had changed, and I felt mysef getting lethargic. So after looking round at the options, decided to join a gym, to get meself off my arse! :p

With work and social commitments, I can only go 2 days a week, wednesday and thursday. I dont really want to loose weight, (female, 5'6 and 8.5 stone), but just stay in my fit-ish state, and basiclly improve my energy levels.
I've been told that going two days consecutively isnt a good idea, but thats my only option, and as it is I do about 45 mins cardio (20min run, 15 rowing or cycling), then some light weights on arms, legs, abs and back.

I feel I'm not really throwing my self into it yet, I dont really know if this is doing any good, or if I'm on the right track.
I guess doing something is better than doing nothing, but at the same time I dont want to butch up, or get skinny!

If anyone has any opinions or advice on this please share! Thanks for reading.

if you can only train on wednesday and thursday i would recomend you keep doing cardio both nights and then split the weights between the two nights. lift a bit heavier than you are currently doing as you are only training each muscle once a week, do abdominal/core exercises. make sure you train each muscle over the two days, do chest exercises biceps triceps back shoulders quads hamstrings calves . watch your diet, eat enough protein as it will help you stay lean and helps burn fat, consume healthy fats
